View Full Version : Can someone answer this simple question about CD's for me?

I'm buying:

http://www.iomega.com/software/hotburn/hotburnpc.html

So that I can save my data onto my CD-RW's as if they were zips so that I can delete/rename files on the CD if I want to since right now it won't let me.

Here's the stupid question... once I delete a file on the CD do I regain the space that file took up... or does it just delete the file? Someone told me one answer, and then another told me something else so just curious and double checking.

Thanks :)

If it's a CD-R you won't gain the space back, however on a CD-RW you should.

Ah I see, thanks.

Maybe last time I asked they thought I was talking about Cd-R instead of Cd-RW.

Nevermind, i'm not buying that software. I just read it can take up to 90 minutes to reformat the CD before I can use it the way I wanted to.

Screw that.
