I have one server with plain Red Hat 9.0 installed.

I want to put there one client. He wants to be able to create mail boxes, subdomains and view logs. Isthere any cheaper alternative to Cpanel in this case? I don't want to spend extra $20 for Cpanel license.

Thanks

I would vouch for DirectAdmin.

There is also Ensim and Plesk although I am not sure of their cost.

Is there anything below $20? The server for this costs me a lot and I don't want to put more money into it.

Thanks

Is it not an option to just do this manually?

With subdomains and email addresses, most people don't add/remove them every other day so once they're setup once, they're done.

With log files, you can setup a cron task to copy them into their ftp space. AWStats or Webalizer can be installed and only needs doing once too.

It just seems that if you're client already has the required emails, subdomains etc, you could spend a couple of hours setting them up which will save you/them $20 * X months.

If you're going to simply use it for non profit, or one client, then put in webmin. It's pretty easy to use and manipulate, can be configured to update itself nightly.

Have you tried webcp? http://webcp.can-host.com/

Thanks, I hasve just installed webmin and have one question. How do I create mailboxes for particular domain name? I have sendmail installed.

Any help is appreciated.

Isn't webmin's new webhosting ting available, Virtual-min or whatever? It looks pretty nice for the price.

Plesk used to have a free 1-domain license...check if they still offer that.

Directadmin you can get at a low onetime cost and its a great and decently priced CP. We just started using it from a month back, and prefer it over Plesk.

Just get an external license then, won't cost you much though, $29/mo.

Why would he pay 29/mo for DA when he can get cPanel for 20?
