Hello,

I had posted this information in response to questions posted on another forum, but the forum admins said I should make such posts in this forum, so I have moved it here.

Below is the original post:

My name is Luke Chavers and I am currently working on a public release of a program dubbed Iguana Active Server.

The official URL for the program is at IguanaActive dot com

Let it be known that the website is no where near completion, I am only posting that URL in case whoever cares forgets my email address or something.

I expect to have the site up and running within a month or so, right now I am working with DefconServers, ILan Game, my own company GhostSector dot com, ulangames, and a few others in getting the members section finished (as it is the hardest part).

For about three years now I have put the majority of my efforts in developing iguana, but until recently the original owner of the application did not want to make it publically available for license, which is why it is hard to find information about licensing it and why the website is in shambles.

With that being said, 99% of the work remaining on iguana 2.5.0 is the web site, documentation, and members area.

Before I waste anyone's time, let me list the operating systems that iguana is compatible with.

+ Windows NT (though some instabilities have been found)
+ Windows 2000
+ Windows XP
+ Windows 2003

Note that it is not yet available for Linux.

The first public (stable) release will be version 2.5.0, which will include nearly every feature I have seen in other control panels.

Some Key Features Include:
+ Integrated Web Server
+ UDP Reporting
+ Standard Start, Stop, Reboot controls
+ User Access Levels and Customer side Subaccount management
+ IguanaScript (can be used to install ondemand: patches, etc)
+ Common Settings, for quick and easy config management
+ RCON (for all games that support RCON via UDP)
+ ASCII File Manager (Binary Upload/Download is not yet available)
+ Integrated Task Scheduling
+ Installs in minutes, easy to configure
+ Amazingly low CPU usage
+ Lots more..

Iguana support nearly every game that can run on the windows platform, with the only known exception being Battlefield 1942.

It is versitile enough to manage nearly any application, including Game Servers, Voice Servers, and nearly anything else that runs as an exe for long periods of time.

Iguana is not free, but it is very cheap, and the price is per client per month, so you never need to worry about commitments or upgrade fees.

All upgrades are FREE for as long as you license iguana.

Here is the current pricing model, though I encourage you to email me if you have any questions or suggestions.

1-3 Licenses .... $4.95 per license per month
4-50 Licenses ... $2.50 per license per month
51-100 Licenses ... $2.00 per license per month
101-250 Licenses ... $1.75 per license per month
251-500 Licenses ... $1.50 per license per month
501+ Licenses ... $1.25 per license per month

*Pricing model may vary based upon client's needs

If you have ANY questions please contact me at luke@ghostsector.com , please leave your phone number and a good time to reach you (unless you insist upon email-only correspondance) in addition to your questions.

Thank you for your time and interest,

Do you have any screenshots, a demo or anything like that? I have a game server, but I don't know if it would work with it.

I would like to see some screenshots, or an actual demo.

Development for linux is planned, but not immediately.

Our current focus is on making the windows version completely stable. Before I began working on the public version nearly 2 months ago, Iguana required several hours of installation and tons of requirements.

The new version of iguana installs in about 10 minutes, and runs independantly of all other applications.
(In the past you needed a mySQL server and etc)

I expect Iguana will be publically available in a few short weeks, and an online demo should be available this weekend.

I started on the product showcase today on iguanaactive.com, just browse over to that website to take a look :)

I expect to finish the showcase, complete with tons of screenshots within a few days.

Thanks,
-Luke

is the price you added there for clients as in clients that i have?

so if i host 100 people (so 100 game servers) i would be paying

$200 a month?

also is this unbranded or branded?

IE if im paying 200 a month, i would hope that there are not too many links to iguanactive dot com. and i would hope that i can edit most of the layout etc.....

That is correct, you would be paying $200.00 per month.

You may brand at your own descretion, iguana's web interface is 100% skinnable, so you can even tell your customers that you use "ZeroOnes' Gecko CP" -- so long as you do not attempt to reverse engineer our application and stop paying us, we do not ask anything more.

Most of our customers, so far, take pride in the fact that they go the extra mile and spend money on a tool that makes their services better. It makes the customer happy to know that you care about what they want and need.

But once again, brand, or don't brand, its up to you :)

Just a reminder, the beginning of the showcase is online at iguanaactive.com

Thanks,
-Luke

Wow, this sounds great, can't wait! I sure hope support for Linux is added sometime soon after it's release, since all of the game servers I have are running on Red Hat. As long as it's as good as or better than exocontrol, I'll be interested in buying

Shame really...

I have just signed up to test the windows version but we only run a limited amount of windows servers.

If this is as good as people say then I would be more than willing to pay for your control panel and even more so if there was a Linux version avaliable or at least some sign that one was in production.

I would try the demo but it seem to be off line at present, I look forward to testing this product and hope to talk to you soon Luke.

Seth,

Please email me at luke@iguanaactive.com

If you are using version 2.3.8.x there is a bug that affects the web server.

The latest release on the site, 2.3.8.6 fixes that bug.

In the meantime, try typing:

/webport 8080

in the console and see if you can load it on that port.

Thanks,
Luke Chavers
