View Full Version : Valuablehost. More problems... HostEXP you here?
dcdomain 10-09-2001, 02:39 AM I haven't been able to log-in to my account to update any files for three days. I keep getting a 'connection refused' message. The databases have been down for two days. I can't even post in the Valuablehost forums because of that.
Multiple emails, multiple posts in the Valuable host forum that is down right now. Not one single reply. Not even a mass mail sent to let us know what's going on.
You browsing this forum? I need some replies so I know what's going on at least.
Chicken 10-09-2001, 10:53 AM Please state the problem you are having, your experiences, rather than request support in these forums. They have means in which you should contact them for support, and if they don't then you should consider moving to a host who does.
JBIZ718 10-09-2001, 11:24 AM I would recommend contacting your host admin@valuablehost.com
Since I might know more about whats going on.
The new server is not showing any problems with anything. In regards to the old server you shouldnt even be on it.
If you need help and still can not contact your host, you may contact me and I can see what i can do
Joe
dcdomain 10-09-2001, 01:57 PM Chicken, sorry about that. Here's the list of problems I've had with Valuablehost:
1. Server move gone wrong which led to sporadic uptime, had to redirect nameservers. Couldn't update site.
2. DOS attacks (didn't really affect me that much, but for other users it did). Sporadic up time again.
3. Currently, I can't log onto my FTP account to upload files. The databases have been down. These problems have persisted for a couple of days. Worst part about it is that the admin's/support person(s) at Valuablehost hasn't send out any emails alerting his clients. I've emailed support@valuablehost.com multiple times. Not one reply yet. I figured he might be having email problems, so I wanted to see if he was still browsing these forums.
The only support I've gotten lately has been from Dennis/SoftWareRevue.
I'm just too busy right now to hassle with a server move. Perhaps during midsemester break I'll look into other hosts and transfer.
stodge 10-09-2001, 02:55 PM I've tried contacting ValuableHost at admin@ and support@valuablehost.com, but I havent received a response.
I have noticed that Hostexp often haunts these forums, and sometimes this seems to be the only way to contact them.
They did manage to get their own support forums up again, but recently they've gone down again with mySQL problems. It's a poor indication of a company when their own support forums aren't working.
We (obviously myself included) just need indication that they are still there, and are still working on things.
I'm still confused as to which servers (new/old) and DNS servers are being used for my site. What with all the switching between DNS servers, I don't know whether I'm coming or going.
Hopefully you can understand our situation.
THanks
edude 10-09-2001, 08:06 PM Hello,
We have been migrating the .com version of the domain to the new server, once that has been done we should be able to recieve your mail. PM the troubles you are having so i can assist you. The new server has no MySQL problems, we are moving the forum.
Regards,
HostEXP
dcdomain 10-10-2001, 02:09 PM Well, turns out I was bitching to the wrong part. My domain name was still pointing at the old servers even though I had asked for them to be switched a while ago. Sorry about that HostEXP.

When it's an oversight by the site owner or some other entity; rather than by the host.
It takes a stout individual to admit it though.
Good stand dcdomain!
dcdomain 10-10-2001, 06:04 PM Eh, I'm more ignorant and stupid than I care to admit =D.
But yeah, I get frustrated at times when things don't go right, and since this wasn't HostEXP's fault, I don't want to bring him down. Would suck to lose my host because of my ramblings. And where would I go to find another deal to match Valuablehost's?
By the way, everything's up and going strong again. No down databases, no FTP problems (damn Namezero). Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on out! Now to concentrate on the control panel...
edude 10-10-2001, 06:33 PM dcdomain, i wish the larger percentage of my clients were like you :) Don't worry SWR your on the list :D
Thanks,
HostEXP
HN4HIM 10-15-2001, 10:28 PM Hey HostEXP when do you think you'll have the forums backup and running?
