Other than ev1, who offer domains at $6.50, where is the cheapest place to get domains? I find $6.50 cheap enough, but i would like to save as much as possible on domain names.

Low rates = bulk accounts, in other words you shell out some $$$ for the benefit of having a low reg fee per domain.

With the tax though it's more expensive then getting a enom account and submitting $6750 to enom to get one. Your only saving about one cent but you'll be saving money.

Yes, you'll be saving a lot of money provided you plan to register at least 1,000 domains :D

no, myvaluehost.com has a $4 deal going right now.

That's a good deal and you don't have to pruchase hosting. Limit of 10 though.

EV1's $7.03 is still the best buy in town. Yes, Hostway is offering a single domain (no bulk purchase necessary) for only $6.95, and GoDaddy charges $4.95 for .biz and .us. But I wouldn't recommend esp. Hostway which is not yet a pro when it comes to domain registration (even though strangely they have their own registrar - AAAQ): your selected domains are not submitted to the registry in more than 20 minutes (support actually said it could take some 24-48 hours)! And with an OpenSRS backend, $7.03 is undoubtedly the lowest price when other Tucows resellers are asking for $11.50 at the least (since their reseller price is $10).

By the way, can anyone tell me why AAAQ (with the .com) has been banned here?

Myvalue host has the $4 domains - They are just reselling them from EV1 (It's the same login site - My login at EV1 works with myvaluehost)

I've just registered a domain with them, and have been sent an email telling me that i must verify..thats it..maybe an idea to include how i'm meant to verify.. oh well. Will report my progress later.

Myvalue host

Yes, same situation. Asked me to verify.. how, I dont know & they didnt give any hint!.

Repied to the email with the address & tel no.

Let's see how it goes!

they are not resellin for ev1 they are reselling for opensrs.org

any login from opensrs will work on any reseler just like enom's :)

Do you know how their verification works?

Myvaluehost

I replied to an email they sent with my info.
Some hours later, I got their confirmation, receipt, etc.

A bit slower than other registrars, but at $4, I am not complaining.

what do you mean with "limit of 10 though" ?

and are you sure that what they offer isn't a scam ? I mean, 4 $ is so low it's hard to believe the company can offer it without going bankrupt...

From eNom:
http://www.enom.com/resellers/default.asp?featurename=599#599

"Name Only" Accounts
$5.99 domain name registrations account.

The price is really cheap.

However, I have no idea how to sign up and get this price....
:(

=====================

As MyValueHost
https://www.myvaluehost.com/ordernowdomain.mvh

You can just order domain for "1 year", like EV1,
really not sweet....

And there are also some limitation:
"Limit - 10 domains per customer at the $4 rate.
Additional domains beyond the first 10 are $8.95/year. "

You have to remember they will probably increase their pricing from 4.00 just like ev1servers did. You cannot sell at a lost forever.

PTEZ

However, I think you could transfer it out, right?
:P

$5.99 you need to email them to convert your account to nameonly account

plus you ownt be able to use the domain its just a registration. and when u wanna use it you pay the difference $3.something :)

I think enom makes money on the nameonly accounts by having it direct to a paid parking page

Well, got a reply from them asking to forward the information I had already submitted via the signup form as part of their verification. That was sent, but got a reply stating that my address didnt match the credit card. So I've sent a scanned copy of my cc statement prooving my address

Update: Domain has been processed now.

There support is good though - friendly

But they are hopeless everywhere else. They've charged my CC 3 TIMES FOR ONE DOMAIN.

Companies need to understand, that they offer a loss product, so that they can demonstrate their superiority, and then I might be convinced to buy their other products.
Myvaluehost has demonstrated that if I was to purchase their hosting, who's to say I would be charged 3 times on my CC again?

indianetwork

MyValueHost.com:

I believe my CC was charged just once.

I asked them for renewal rates & here's what they said:

"Domain names are $20 to renew for a year, and $17.50/year to renew if you renew it for more than a year at a time. "

Dont think customers who opt in for $4 domain names even at the cost of a less friendly user interface would renew at these rates... what do you think?

thats true, so no value in haivng 5.99 account unless you want to register domains and don't want to use them AT ALL ?

why register them in the first place :D if they have traffic better you gain that little money by forwarding it to any PPC services.

I was lucky, I was charged only twice, but I got my money back yesterday.

HI can anyone tell me how does the domain control panel looks like? where do you login from? manage.opensrs.net ?

Does it support nameserver registration? changing of ownership? $4 for domain really sounds too good to be true...!! :D
