I am considering EZPublishing.com's Backend Hosting - Startup Host plan at $199.00 per month. Anyone familiar with this plan or with the company? I would very much appreciate any feedback regarding the plan or the company. I would also be very interested in hearing from anyone who offers a similar plan.

Am I reading it right? 10 gigs of transfer for $199.00 a month and $10/GB after?

That is not a starter plan. If you don't already have 100 clients, it certianly isn't worth it. From your post, I gather you are just getting rolling.

What if you only get 10 your first month? You would be averaging 19.90 each, not the 1.99 they have in the sales pitch.

And the monthly transfer is weak, as Allera stated. You can do much better. Check out the Offers forums here http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=4 and do some hunting around. If you want more specific advice, feel free to PM me.

Don't you think getting a server is even cheaper than the starter plan? It's just way too much. I don't it worth.

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like I need to do some more looking. I have to admit, I'm more of a businessman than a computer person. I need to have a system which has everything I need from templates to tech support for me and my customers. I intend to market initially to people in my county-wide area who want an internet presence but do not require (at least at first) a lot of extras. I would like to be able to sell a year-long web hosting package (basic) for $35.00. If you can help with suggestions of another provider. I thank you in advance for your support.

Well, as someone else stated above, you can get a pretty darn good dedicated server for $199.00 a month (which was what you were planning to pay anyway). Find a host that also includes a control panel like Plesk, Ensim, or Cpanel/WHM and use that to host your customers with. Although, if you want to run your own server, control panel or not, you should have some unix experience (or windows if you choose that route).

Otherwise, check out this forum for resellers. I've heard many good things about McHost.com. Just have a look around and you're bound to find something. Email prospective reseller hosts and see how well they respond.

Just some tips. :) Good luck!
