OS : Windows 2000 Server (Client License)
CPU : AMD-XP2100
RAM : 512MB RAM
HD 1 : 40GB HD 7200rpm
IP's : Block of 8 (5 usable)
Bandwidth : 500GB (free)

Looking to run only HL MODs, as in TFC, CS...etc

Can I run 2 20 player servers without issues? I know the bandwidth is fine, but will the CPU & memory handle it ok? Realistically, what could I get out of this box....

Probably 4-8 servers without any problems depending on how many players. I would say 4 20 player servers without a problem.

That is impossible. I'd say about 2 20 players, maybe 3 16 players.

ya, rainetech has the right idea. Sure the servers will be fine for about 20 minutes, but you'll be screwed on map change. HL has this weird thing, that when it map changes, it hogs a CPU to hell and back. If you have 4 servers do that at once (or close to it). you'll loose all your players, and possibly crash.

Yeah, I know about map changes. Was just wondering if I could run a couple of decent servers on it.

Oh i'm possitive 2 will be fine, but much more than that might cause some problems :)

If you're makin' a biz outta this, I heard dual xeon's can get some crazy amount of servers (6+ or something?)

Also take into consideration what MOD it is too. I'm sure CS uses more bandwidth than pure HL and so on and so forth for all the online mods ;) natural selection was supposed to make like anything crawl, heh'

You should be able to handle about 35-40 players without lag. If you oversell, about 80 slots or so. I can get about 250 slots out of the dual xeon 2.8s, but only 70-80 or so active players.

i can get 100+ active players on a dual xeon 2.4ghz, with 3gb ram

Not selling at this point in time. If I were to sell, I would definitely go with dual cpus.

how much bandwidth does a 32 player CS server use? What about a 32 player COD server?
