I have this idea, for a back up solution for RAQ servers and other servers. Im still thinking about it, and wanted to know if all of this is something good, or if I could have some input from people who would use this service.
Here are some features you would be able to pick from:
- $8.00/mo/per GIG of back up
- *.RAQ/*.BAC files only
- Automatic Set up of Account
- Secure Back-Up Server
Im still thinking about it, what do you guys think? Would you pay for something like this?

hm ... why would anybody want to pay $8/GB/mo? People complain about paying $3/GB/mo already .... Besides, for backup purpose, I think a Raq will be sufficient and you can just get a RAQ at rackhack.net and get the 300GB for $99/mo?
There is a similar service offered by raqservices.com at a much cheaper price ....
cheers,

BTW, The backup system in the RAQ doesn't work. Cobalt is aware that it is useless. So if you are expecting customers to use the onboard backup system and then send to your server...
Good for you...bad for your customers...:)

somebody posted a backup script that will automaticall (if the script is put on cron) tar, gzip, and ftp the file to remote server. It was quite a while ago, just search for 'backup/script/backup script' and you will get it, eventually :)
cheers,

Yes, and wouldn't they also then have to pay their upstream provider for the same bandwidth - as it would be transferring from their network to yours?
