I have a question :

How can I understand - learn this hosting firm reseller or not, if yes whose reseller is it ?

I see an hosting place www.vthost.net , I sometimes see cheap places like this and I wonder that : Is this hoster a reseller, if so, can I trust it.

I am searching trusted places from Webhostingtalk but sometimes I cant find any information about hoster which I see. And I dont want to ask same questions (how it is) here often.

Note : I hope, I could say that I tried to say. If my english very bad excuse me.

Resellers aren't always bad.... but I understand you would want to know if they were or not.
Here is a couple ways to find out more about the host; we will use vthost.net as an example.

Tracert: This traces the route from your comp to the host's server, and tells you where it stops on the way. You can go to start => run => Tracert vthost.net

This tells you all the places it stoped.. you should put type some of the last addresses into your browser, and see what comes up. Here it is p4-0.core1.cftnnj.inet.vdi.net .
VDI.net is a host, as well as http://www.inet.net/. This leaves you to believe they ARE a reseller for one of these companies.

The second way is to do a whois... Try the www.domainwhitepages.com
type in the domain and see what comes out. In this case it happens to be Address lookup
canonical name vthost.net.

There is nothing wrong with a reseller, Alot of
resellers are just guy1 pays for the server.. then
he turns around and sells section off to reseller1, reseller2, reseller 3... etc.. guy1 runs the server and maintains it...
and the resellers do the leg work to make thier money.

But if they are a reseller for like DonHost* -=x
or I think there is a fasthost..
RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! :)

Oh, I looked over some things. Co-location can also cause the tracert to come up with another company.

When i run Tracert vthost.net it goes on for 30 sec or so and than window just disappears? win2000 server OS ? any idea?

I am not expert but I think this :

If you using not patched IIS in your system and an address which you tracked has nimda virus, it may attacking to your system (may be ?)

Or you could just ask them.
I know it's not very technically-changelling, but most hosts would answer that question truthfully, I think.
