View Full Version : What control panel for us?

We currently don't operate a control panel feature for our clients, but I think as we have now grown to some size it would be a real plus for our customers.

Up until now our customer services has been good enough that we could change things quickly for clients and they did not miss a control panel feature, but obviously there's a certain point where you have so many clients that if they all wanted to do something, someone would be left waiting.

We operate NT 4.0 Servers using IIS 4.0 (not that modern but very stable!). What control panels are available for us and what are the cost implications?

Have any webhosts noticed revenue go up considerably with a control panel function on offer?

Awaiting your comments.

I had a look through that thread and there's a few bits of software in there.

As this is virgin territory for us (we setup all hosting for our clients rather than it self manage), I'd like to ask the following:

1. If we are using and wish to continue using NT 4.0/IIS 4.0, which control panel is most suited?
2. Are there any freeware panels that would work with our configuration?
3. Which billing software would work best?

I'm really hoping you experts here can help me. I'm good at ebranding so I'll happily trade info, but I really want to have a solution that will sell successfully in the UK.

Can't wait to hear from you all as usual. ;)

You basically have 2 options

1. Buy - the only one I know off is hostingcontroller.net . 2
2. Build

As for Freebies...the only one I know of is from Microsoft. The call it something like ISN. Check their website. But, there are some requirements and its really not that easy to install

cheers!
