Hi all.
Havn't visited WHT for a while now and really disappointed to see the requests section gone:bawling:
Anyways, I am on the lookout for a cheap host and just wondered if anyone has any experience with these hosts:
1. myonehome.com
2. exovian.com
3. e-z-hosting.com
I am planning on signing up on a monthly basis for a new mpegs and audio clip site I have in mind and then if the host is okay will plan to remove all my sites over to the host. So any help on the above hosts would be appreciated. (And before you say it I have run the search feature and there aren't too many comments so that's why I am asking you people).:stickout:
Cheers - Dav:D

1. myonehome.com
Prices are a little higher than what I would expect to pay, however, it appears to be a Windows host, which could account for the increase in cost. With their pricing structure alone, I would expect them to be solvent for a long time. It looks like they've been hosting for a year and ahalf, they have 64 domains pointed to their nameservers and have their main server in Anchorage, Alaska at Fast Colocation Formerly Web Hosting Network.
2. exovian.com
Prices suggest a potential for overselling their servers severely. Their domain was registered just this past June. They currently have 99 domains pointed to their nameservers. Main server is located at ThePlanet in Dallas, Texas. Based on what I've seen thus far, I would shy away from this company, as it doesn't appear that they have long term investment/financial planning goals in mind.
3. e-z-hosting.com
Hosting plans are priced a bit bizarre, however, it does appear that they have a solid financial plan in place. I would still be cautious as it appears that they might be overselling, however, this is not confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt, and do your homework with them first. They have 435 domains on their primary nameservers, domain was registered April of 2002, so they definitely have a good marketing plan in place. They're with ThePlanet, located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
If I had to make a recommendation based on your three choices, I would choose e-z-hosting.com, though I would STILL be wary of them for the reasons I've listed.
You might want to widen your list up a little bit more and include a couple more companies, just for your sanity.
As always, contact each company via their suggested contact means and ask questions of them. Have a good set of questions to ask and be sure to contact them at various points throughout the day.
Good luck with your hosting quest!

Judging from the price, myonehome seems the most sensible.
Thanks for the info guys - very thorough.;)
I was considering going with e-z-hosting.com and have already posted them a few questions which they returned the answers to within a few minutes. Will post some more questions at a differnt time though.
I was looking at the reseller plans at myonehome.com and they seem very cheap although there shared hosting plan prices are nothing special. Will ask them some questions today as well.
Thanks once again - Dav:stickout:

Well, I'd be more than careful about choosing e-z-hosting.com, as their site was defaced/hacked a couple weeks (maybe a month or two) ago. I was also considering them at one point, but since I was waiting for any information to pop up on them, I didn't sign up at the time. I'm quite glad I didn't.
Any host can be hacked whether they fall in the good or bad host list. Yeah you are smart for not signing up due to you need to take precautions but, it could just be a 1 time thing. If they have taken care of things then you should still consider them but, with a close eye.

What made you conclude that they dont have long term investment goals in mind? Just because they already have 99 domains pointed on their servers considering that they just registered june 2003? Please elaborate. thanks.

P.S.
I know someone who is currently hosted in exovian.com and he said that support was superb (considering that he's from the Philippines and there's a huge time difference).

I'm new to webhosting and all but it seems to me that e-z-hosting is claiming to give you insanely high amounts of space and transfer for the price you're paying...
