looking for dedicated server rentals in chicago area that provide at least 500gb bandwidth (No cogent or yipes) and is comparable to servermatrix pricing (so..cheap, lol).

Anyone have any suggestions?

The only one I know of is fdc, but they use yipes and cogent.

sorry, I have only used FDC over the past 2 years. Not to much to choose from in Chicago for low priced service :-(.

www.interquad.net I have a couple of boxes with them, great place to work with, solid bandwidth, can't remember the last time there was any downtime.

With a name like BulletProof4 (a la bullet proof hosting = spam friendly)....I am not sure I would want to recommend a place :-)

I'd also recommend Interquad. They've got some good deals going now and have been very stable.

sorry, my 2 cents would be to avoid CI Host at all costs. many people have lost a lot of money with them.

That seems a little prejudicial. If this is indeed someone wanted to spam, then maybe recommending hosts isn't such a great idea, but "Bullet Proof" does have meanings other than spam.

Plus, if it was spam, I'd _want_ Cogent / Yipes / other cheap providers, since it's silly to pay $300/Mbps for the finest low-latency bandwidth to send spam out over.

The hard part is really the server matrix pricing..

*****.net's bandwidth pricing is too much.
