Yes, it works with shared IP's as well as dedicated IP's, or a combination of both.

lol pretty near idential 'wording' this kid is using compared to that url you gave! lmao, wht gets taken again (including me) by a 10 kid looking to rip people off....

Anyway, i tired it out and it doesnt look like it would help in the shared envir unless all sites logs were in 1 file, which as cpanels of course in a entire folder (domlogs)

Seems like this "kids" program does quite a bit more than apachetop. Having user info alone is significantly more than what apachetop provides. I wouldn't jump to conclusions of being "taken" until something is demonstrated (or not).

it would be great then if he can actually respond to everyones requests, even on AIM and MSN (his sig), i see him online, but he doesnt answer any requests.....

just looking at the demo shot you gave, I see a possible major flaw seeing how your basic everything on hits, not visits, not executions, but hits....anyone knows you can have 2 million hits and just 1000 visitors.....that still doesnt help you track down a high resource hitter, care to shed some more line on exactly how your scripts execute, what they research, if they can check hundreds of log files (like Cpanel) or just one (IE: access_log)

We already released a script like this a while ago, we would be willing to work on this project with you.

We woudl not require payment, instead we could come to a deal regarding compensation.

Please let me know!

there are a few other scripts out there that we use (including in house scripts) to find abusive customers that don't rely just on hits and do pretty good jobs in finding them....always good to have as many tools in your arsenal as possible...

What also worries me is the inablity for the maker to respond to even the most basic requests, either it be a demo, flash demo, or just basic information about the script his trying to sell.

On top of that he has never responded to my demo request as a reply, or my beta request via email, or my more info request via email OR MY msn requests!? If you make a product and have the time to keep posting on this thread why not respond to possible sales questions?

Now I'm worried about the script itself since the developer never bothers to reply to my questions. What happens when I have a question and email you - I'll never get a response probably after I purchase it?

Actually I think the idea behind the script is to show Who the actual user is. that command will only tell which process but not the user?? Unless I am doing it wrong.

you would have to get the user by child process than site , why doesnt htop have the process id? htop looks more of a webstats than 'top' get the same data from SetHandler server-status

i dont see this as being a very useful script simply because they use "hits" to base usage on, and their "beta" doesnt even work.....

For the cost you would pay this guy to buy a script that you

1. cant even view the source of because he silmly makes it so that the program deletes itself after its run each time...
2. relys on downloading the script from his servers
3. even at that point, i couldnt get the script to work, the guy never repiled to our emails telling them so

I have not tried the script.

What I am surprised is that if this script is possible why no one has done it before..

I am not the best at the command line but I figure if one person could make it so could any other *nix guru

Im going to stick with our inhouse scripts which do just fine for us, they usually find 90% of the high abusing customers, no sense in wasting $50 on something that doesnt work
