My server is aperntly on a spamlist. Does anybody know how to get of that spamlist.

I also would like to know if I can see the complain why I am on that spamlist. I don't send spam myself. I only send emails one on one to people that I know. I also can't find any strange things in my mail logs in WHM.

Today I activated a spam filter with my ISP and a forum activation mail was marked as spam.

Any help is very much apriciated.

I dont beleive there is anything you can do about it. Happned to some of my servers as well.

It very much depends on the list.

If you're on SPEWS, you're in for a few days of severe grovelling.

Firstly, goto the list's root website, and check each of your mail servers IP's, most accompany a result with a reason.

Once you find the reason, it will probably be very evident who the offending person is, so the number one thing you have to do, is inform the client that you have recieved reports of SPAM on their account, and until the issue is resolved, their account will be suspended (give them something to work with, possibly a trail/header).

Once you have the spammer deactivated, get in touch with the spam list, or post
here (http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&group=news.admin.net-abuse.email) and ask about ways to get your IP's off the list, before you get in too deep (if you're not already).

All of the above only really applies however, if you are the box owner/leaser. If you are on a shared server, I'd suggest you contact your host very quickly, and ask why you find yourself on a blacklist.

Check these site's for your IP; http://www.spews.org http://www.spamcop.net and http://www.spamhaus.org if you're on (any) those lists, follow the FAQ section to be removed. Remember, there is a point of no return for some of these lists, and the guys that run them are generally not very polite.

I agree, so long as the spamming stops, and you've met all guide lines ;)

Throw in your server's IP address in the search mask of http://www.openrbl.org and see what comes up.

If you are being blocked by AOL...have fun. They can be a real pain at times to get off their "blacklist" only to be placed on their "whitelist".

Once AOL blocks a server once, they will do it repeatedly.

I am on the SPEWS list and I read their FAQ but all they say is that I have to contact/complain with my provider. As far as I can see from the "evidence file" from SPEWS my IP number is not mentionend but I think my IP number is in an IP block that is listed.

I hope my provider will take care of this.

Not really. The key is to not respond to the kook faction of nanae, which is rather formidable, when they inevitably start attacking the removal request.
