View Full Version : vsite lost quota

Hi,

I've got a costumer on a site w/ 400 mbyte disk quote, which is used aroud 20%

Somehow it happened last weekend that the quota was reset to 1 mbyte (according to filesystem & diskuse stats; 400 mbyte still showed up in site settings).

the problem was "easily" fixed by setting the quota to 399 mbyte so it was reset on the filesystem, but the main problem was:

with no disk space left (1mb quota) the clients software was not able to write to the mysql database probably, which corrupted the database, so he lost half of it's data. (i was able to restore most of the data from backups, but nearly a days has been lost)

is there any known reason why raqs loose disk quota settings?

i'm thinking of installing the quota.pkg (http://cobalt-aid.sourceforge.net/files/Features/Intel/Quota.pkg) from cobalt-aid but infact it will only help half as it runs daily - i would suffer from the same problem that during the time the quota is broken: loose data of data is likely.

Any ideas/suggestions/etc??

Thanks,
Martin/Iplexx

Martin,

I tried the quoat.pkq on one of my raqs (RaQ4i) and it didn't do anything. All the quota's are gone on mine... But luckily mine went to "unlimited" instead of 1mb.

All the other vsites looked fine - I think I'll take a closer look on their quotas... jumping to "unlimited" wouldn't stress me that much, loosing data is really  and makes me really sleep badly....... :( :crying:

Further, I fetched the quota.pkg and took a closer look - it install's a daily cronjob (03-quota.pl) which executes a quotatool (placed in admin's home) for every vsite... the perl script looks fine but the quotatool itself is a binary executable, so I don't know how and if it works... maybe I'm going to contact Martin Moeller, the author of the pkg...

I'd be happy to hear if you find out anything helpful...

I'll tackle it sometime, it's just not too high on my priorities...after all I'm not loosing data like you. Good luck!:wavey:

Sorry to bring this old one back up.

But iplexx did you hear something about it ?

At my raq3 several sites are set to unlimited :(

Does the quota pkg on sourceforge solve this problem?

Well lets bring this up once more.
Does anyone has positive or negative experiences with the quota.pkg ?

Thanks,
