Sounds good to me. What do you think?
dektong 10-06-2001, 01:05 AM sounds too good to be true. Are they going with cogent? But at any rate, I will just wait when it comes out. Which company is this?
cheers,
Steve_B 10-06-2001, 09:22 AM really interesting... but seems unbelievable.
PaulRoberts 10-06-2001, 01:01 PM First off - a full T-3 is at least $6k telco charge and at least $10k service charge (and that is getting a steal). Based on that price you'd could offer 1MEG for $355/month. Figure each 1meg can push out 324 gigs per month...
Then you are getting the bandwidth for about $1.09 per gig. And they're trying to give you 400GIGS for less then that? Hmm doesn't sound possible to me unless you are sleeping with UUNET's CEO or using Cogent ;) .
In my opinion this company will be around for about a month until they realize their equipment/bandwidth costs are way more then what they're selling them for.
Just my 2 cents...

I'd like to see where this info is from, datacenter, URLs, etc. Otherwise, what is the point in discussing it?
creid 10-06-2001, 05:19 PM Its all about dreaming Chicken......;)
Xenon210 10-06-2001, 07:54 PM I'll find some docs to show you guys how it would work.
CRego3D 10-06-2001, 10:37 PM not to mention .. if you make no money .. why bother ?
I rather have 400 happy customers that I can dedicated my time to them, than 2000 unhappy ones becuase I only make 5.00 each, so I have no time to devote to them ...
just my 0.02

There's a sensible idea...
Sure seems to be a wave of these companies popping up with the business model of bulk hosting by low profit.
Gives the hosting business a bad name.
Dylan 10-07-2001, 12:13 AM It sounds like an idea on the Xenon210.com drawing board :D
Xenon210 10-07-2001, 01:42 AM Quick to jump to conclusions. Sort of embarassing when they're wrong, though. :)
My friend is the one who is heading up this whole thing, actually.
