Very suiitable for business portals etc.
I thought this is thebest offer my service provider could get.
So I commited 5 accounts to him. Isn't it as good. I'm kinda stuck.
Please help, provide feedback and so !
vardhandelhi 10-05-2001, 05:10 PM I hav taken money to promote this offer and committed atleast 5 orders for the company. Isn't the offer the best around the web ?
Isn't it as good ? Please provide feedback atleast.
MattG 10-05-2001, 06:28 PM Perhaps you would want to mention bandwidth/NOC considerations.
That might prove useful.
Good Luck
vardhandelhi 10-05-2001, 06:38 PM The company has backbone from yahoo, verio.
7 gb of bandwidth. They normally don't bill user if bandwidth goes bit high...e.g. upto 8 gb was never billed. They try to let user breathe easily.
Create subdomains
Email forwarding
PHP
MYsql
Perl
ASP also available (optional)
control panel etc
If you need more details...contact me..and I'll get u more details.
Relyc 10-05-2001, 07:07 PM Am I to understand you're charging $57.50/month for 7gb of bandwidth?
MattG 10-05-2001, 07:16 PM I hav taken money to promote this offer and committed atleast 5 orders for the company. Isn't the offer the best around the web ?
To answer your question...That doesn't seem to be a competitive rate for a shared account. Still if you are happy with the service then enjoy. Good luck..
dektong 10-05-2001, 07:52 PM Well, since this is an advertising forum, I think I can post my offer now, right Chicken? :)
vardhandelhi,
if you have already commited to it (signed a contract, paid money already), then I can't do anything. The deal does not sound that good especially since I can offer better :D
P3/850 (dual proc capable) with 2GB of RAM (a second--Dual P3/866 with 2GB of RAM--dedicated mysql server will come, if load on the server is high
1GB space with 20GB of bandwith for $60/mo
accounts are limited to at most 20 (less is better, as long as the server load can be minimized).
Contact me if you are interested.
cheers,
vardhandelhi 10-05-2001, 08:02 PM Dear friend,
These people are backed by verio and yahoo like companies as their backbone provider. What abt you ? I already mentioned, this plan is not at all comparable with normal plans that web hosts provide at 10$-20$ or even 100$. It is a sein of quality rather than quantity.
Relaiable burstable backbone badnwdith costs not less than 3.50$ /pm maybe less if you occur to have lotz of server or very large host.
That comes to me 20 gb * 3.5 = 70
and 7 * 3.5 = 24.5
This is badwidth costs alone.
These guyz provide matchless support. I'm not sure what kinda support u r gonna provide with me. ?
Please provide me an answer.
Thanks
dektong 10-05-2001, 08:19 PM server is located at VDI.net, quite a reliable network and it's fast also. I am capable of downloading ftp://ftp.uu.net/uumap.tar.Z (8.5MB in size) in less than 4 seconds (burstable to around 2200KB/s or 17.6Mbps). Try to download this file, perharps their great network can perform much better than this. And of course, if you think their support is very reliable, I think you should stick with it, as many will agree with me on this.
cheers,
vardhandelhi 10-05-2001, 09:03 PM I guess this is the best offer I've seen 57.5$ pm.
You get what you pay for.
Their server has got backup option as well as RAID.

Errrrr... well actually... normally we'd ask you not to post an offer under another perons's offer, though he doesn't seem to mind much, and maybe he's looking for other providers to offer services anyhow, but ummm... well.

I don't know about anyone else, but I get transfer (bandwidth) at $2/gb
And I know of several places where you can get it for even less
JBIZ718 10-05-2001, 09:40 PM Well
This is not the best offer I have ever seen, but to each his own.
In regards to Bandwidth that is very pricey at 3.50 per gb. We get Tier 1 bandwidth in Dallas for much less then that.
We also get Yipes Bandwidth for must less than that.
In regards to VDI, they might be fine now, but there network has not always been stable.
The deal does not sound too bad , good luck
Joe
vardhandelhi 10-05-2001, 11:14 PM Weare talking of quality, in terms of reliability and performance here. Server is hosted with Verio, yahoo or the likes, of'course the prices are gonna be a bit high, but these are damn cheap in comparision with the prices offered, Verio or the likes.
57.5$ pm. I'll call it one of the best bargain. But thatz just me.
Ericd 10-05-2001, 11:39 PM Well, VO' servers are located at Verio too and their support is top-notch, yet they only charge $14 for 7.5 GB.
By the way, what's the web site you are hosting with them :)
vardhandelhi 10-06-2001, 12:19 AM I would love to take on a offer like that, although itz too good to be true !
dektong 10-06-2001, 12:22 AM VO = venturesonline.com
cheers,
vardhandelhi 10-06-2001, 12:38 AM That is 100 Mb of storage not 1 GB as of mine.
:)
I thought it was 7.5 gb of storage.. lol

That has to depends on each cllient needs. Large storage space is only a small factor but the bandwidth allowance is the main cost besides features.
I think most people will prefer to have more bandwidth than storage space with your price.
Just my thought :)

vardhandelhi 10-06-2001, 06:23 AM This package is quite a good bargain, because the servers are very high end and backbone provider are verio, yahoo and the likes. You can't get this much space of this quality at less than 130$ pm anywhere.
If you still want the normal space offered by other hosts. I can also offer the same
1 Gb with mysql php
email accounts, unlimited forwarding
20 gb of bandwidth etc
at just 29$ pm - Server A
or 39$ pm - Server B
I better post a new thread. To let all of you notic it.
This is a new offer.
choon 10-06-2001, 06:35 AM I don't think you can post a new offer within these few days. Read this forum rules :)
Whatever it is... if you offer server A with 7GB bandwidth for $40++ and storage space is 1GB and server B with 20GB bandwidth / lesser storage space for $20++... I personally will take server B ;)
Again, just my thoughts :D

cperciva 10-06-2001, 06:39 AM vardhandehli, yahoo isn't even a backbone provider. They have lots of servers, yes -- all running FreeBSD! -- but they use other companies' networks (most exodus, but I'm sure others as well).
Given that yahoo doesn't provide any backbone at all, I'm not sure that "using yahoo as a backbone provider" is exactly going to be such a great idea ;)
vardhandelhi 10-06-2001, 06:48 AM I know, but yahoo does provide backbone for their server. Maybe the actual bandwidth comes from Exodus or so, but dealing with yahoo keeps us in safe place as it is resposibility of yahoo to keep the network throughput up even if something goes off with exodus. I've heard lotz o rumors regarding exodus thatz why. I'm not sure, but I guess yahoo most probably have backbone provided by more than a few providers for better redundancy and tolerance.
Hope it helps

At first I thought you were soliciting feedback. Your tone is moving to a more sales-like approach..
This is the Adv. & sales forum and so the above is perfectly acceptable ;)
Good luck with gathering the business you need to make serious $$$
vardhandelhi 10-06-2001, 08:32 AM I've been hosting my site over there from past 4 months, and I never had even a single break down. They are sincere people and support is excellent.
I like promoting a service or product in which I'm confident in rather than promoting a product just coz. itz cheap or I make more margins. Itz customer retention that matters most in long run.
webtech 10-06-2001, 10:07 AM Im interested in seeing your site you pay $57.50 for to test the speeds. I am thinking about moving a site over to you at that price but i would like to run a few tests on your network to see how the speeds are. Please post a IP to your site or the domain of your site. Must appreciated:)
