how do i remove a username so i may restore the account?

Hi. I assume you are using Cpanel.
When listing installed accounts, does it show there?

If it doesn`t, there are still many places in the CPanel system
where information could have been not removed properly.

You can contact me on MSN, and I`ll walk you throught it.

this is weird!!
when i enter "userdel username"
it returns "userdel: user griffin does not exist"

so why is this above error showing?

check in /etc/group :)

also, /var/cpanel/users

I ran into a similar problem not too long ago. I found this solution (http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8449&highlight=Terminate+an+account) which worked. Look for the post by Cass there...
