Hello,

Can each virtual account you create have multiple pop3 email accounts?

Yes, just set up additional users in the site (don't make them siteadmin if you don't want them all to be able to control the main site's pages).

There is a minimum of 1MB for each user, so if you have a site with 1MB, you are only going to be able to set up 1 user. 2MB site, 2 users, etc.

Thanks Chicken,

I intend to resell the space on the raq. If i sell say 50 mb of web space and want to market the plan with 10 pop3 accounts, is that possible? can i limit the number of users they can add?

As looking at the control panel system of the raq, you would have to give your client 'Virtual Site Management'. Can they only allocate the webspace that I have given them to each user or can they use the whole HD of the raq?

They can only use the webspace you provided them with when you setup that particular site!
They can't use the whole Hard Disk!

Yes, that's is possible. You can setup 50 users with 1mb space each.

You can do that when you setup that particular site.

This goes a little bit off this thread...so, if it needs to move it to it's own thread, I understand...

when adding users to a virtual site, does the total space for all users have to be equal to or less than the space allowed for the site?

This is what I had thought, but.....On a Raq4i, I have a site that thier users are assigned around a total of 300M, but the site itself is only allowed 200M. Any idea why this happens? or is it normal and I am just losing it?

Also, when I go look at the disk usage, the total used for the site is less than the total used for each user.... I am a bit confused..

any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Well, it has been a bit since I tried to cut anything close and figure out if the limits are real or not. I had thoght that they are, but from what you posted, I guess they aren't. Seems odd to me and it might be (no shocker if so) a bug.

I just did the same thing, but it won't allow me.
I create a virtual site with 10 users assinging the site with 300mb space. I assigned the first 9 users with 30 mb and when I tried assigning the 10th user with 40mb it gave me an error.

Well......

Then any idea why mine is doing this? and how to fix it?

Well, the only possible thing why that has happened is:

You might have created the site with say 300mb space and then created the 10 users with 30mb for each of them. then you modified the site and decreased their webspace to say 200mb.

It won't give any error and would cause the problem you are having now..

Was that the case ??

No...
I set the site up for 200M, went in to look at it the other day...
and they have put in users with the following allotments...
user1 20
user2 20
user3 80
user4 15
user4 150
total for users: 285
total allowed for site :200

and the other wierd thing....on another site, the total shown as used for the site is well under the total used by the users of the site.
total site usage: 1301.7
total user usage: 2182.7 (yes, I know...it is a big site)

I have tried the quota pkg from http://cobalt-aid.sourceforge.net/ after getting the unlimited space error a couple times, that fixed that....but, I have no idea what is going on with this...

any ideas?

Well,

Nothing such ever happened to me! So I can't give out any suggestions, but I would try searching out if I get time as well as I also remember it! :)

Did you tried searching the Cobalt Mailing List??
