Have any of you Alabanza hosts on this list installed Chillisoft ASP on your servers ? How about ColdFusion ?

i inquired about it when i was using them...

there response was something along the lines of:

'well, if you install it we will not support the box anymore'

.... so good luck with those people! *laughs*

Well ... a few months back I woudl think they are beeing bastards .. but now .. I have to tell you .. people install the weirdest programs on their CPanel boxes (with us) .. then in the process they break Cpanel and yell at us to fix it..

The "if you install it we won't support it" is sounding more and more appealing for us to say as well ;)

agreed. however, alabanza will go as far as to say the you are not even allowed to manaully edit certain files in the shell. (to create subdomains for example)

kind rediculous i think, but i understand what you are saying. the difference is that alabanza will not even touch the box at all, whereas i am quite sure you filks would at least look at it.

... my 2 cents.

I have had quite enough of them. I have a server with them and it is slow and getting a response from support is like pulling teeth. With that said I am looking for a new home for my Hosting business. I have around 150 clients. I am currnetly with Alabanza. I will need a Hosting Mangement solution and control panels for clients. I also need Linux, MySQL, PHP 4.x, Perl 5.X ... you know... all the goodies to run a successful hosting company.

Thanks for your help.

Well,
I can tell you that ive seen a server with Alabanza that had Chilisoft just crash the web server, causing the ENTIRE thing to go down. Then when chilisoft was contacted they replied something like " well can you turn the server back on (so that it will crash AGAIN), so we can see what the problem is?" They wanted to trouble shoot the software at our expense.... nahhh

FYI, Alabanza has just begun offering servers with Chilisoft installed. They won't add it to exising boxes; Alabanza-based hosts would have to get a new Chilisoft server.

Well my big server is almost full and I am going to get one of the new ASP servers from Alabanza. I will let you all know how it goes.

Cheers,
Nigel
