I was checking my site stats and noticed i get alot of hits from yahoos searh people search for http://www.mysite.com why do they do this is they know my url already??

How do you know what keywords they were searching for? My stats show that they came from a search engine, but NOT what someone typed in to come up with my domain name....

They may be searching for other referances to your site. Maybe they are looking for reviews, for instance. Then they don't see any results that look interesting to them and they go to look at your site again. Just a guess, but sounds likely to me :)

I would be willing to bet you are getting a ton of web newbies wondering if they can get mysite.com ... for theirself.. find it is taken, and they go to the search engines to find out more info.

Just guessing,,, but I bet it is mostly curiosity (or however you spell it)

My other guess on that one is, that they may have typed it in slightly wrong, with the ".com", etc. You know when your browser automatically searches when you mistype a domain? Could this be why?

I've watched as people type in just my domain name with no ".com", and know that they do it. I'm just guessing that they then go to a search engine to find it? Eh? Ahhhh, I dunno.
