I actually made my own step by step order form and then realized that alabanza's form action goes to another server to process orders and enter them into the DSM.

Ok, now what!

I emailed them and I am waiting on response.

For example jumplines. I will have an SSL cert for secure.mybizhosting.com and can't just post all the variables to admin.mybizhosting.com

that would require two certs at $125 each..

Please help

Originally, I was doing the same thing, then later I realized that why not just use the generic form provided by alabanza..

There is nothing you can do about it. You have to purchase another certificate for your admin.mybizhosting.com.

Why not divide your Order Form into two sections in order to customize it to your tastes?

All information you wish to customize goes into another Order Form which does not interact with Alabanza's server.

I am assuming you could share a security certificate or maybe not using a security certificate at all for the part which is customized.

Or could you use the same security certificate for both these two separate forms also?

Just trying to be helpful with a little suggestion. :) I really don't know too much about using Security Certificates. If this idea isn't worth it, I apologize.

If this suggestion is impractical, would someone please tell me why? Would like to learn!

Learner, at some point the info that the new customer enters has to be sent to admin.mybizhosting.com in order for the DSM to process it. This is what he needs another certificate for, otherwise the info will not be transferred securely. The certificate cannot be shared for this because they are different places.

It is true. You do need a seperate security certificate. Think about it. Jumpline is huge,, 125.00 is nothing for them to do this. However, it is alabanza not putting in the correct script alias into your config that makes it unaccessable securely.

They are protecting their code, and don't want anyone too close. The system could be set to work through the admin and the main sites secure cert., but it would take too much individual time for every dsm they have.

We have been hoping that some day they make the CPs secure. They have you use SSH, but then the CP should use the same care.
Perhaps this will come with teh promised new programmers.

I'm not sure if these certificates work on Alabanza servers or not, but if you don't want to spend $125, there are alternatives such as:

https://www.equifaxsecure.com/

I don't know how good they are or anything, but they do work in all major web browsers.

https://www.equifaxsecure.com/Alabanza says you can't use Equifax certs. A couple of weeks ago I asked an Equifax rep about it, and she put me on hold and then said their "marketing guy just left a message with Alabanza's CEO." This was the day Alabanza's price changes hit the fan, so I told her he'd probably be busy!

She said she'd call me back this past week with a final answer, but did not.

Anyway, you could use an Equifax cert (or anyone else's) at Alabanza for anything other than the admin cert, but you'd have to poke around and manually install their root certificate and change httpd.conf to point to it. You can't do that for the admin cert, and Alabanza won't.
