I have noticed around the forum that people would like to have a "lighter weight" cpanel3 shell. I have been working on one for a couple of nights. My main goal is to make it load as fast as possible. The main page is only 18.6k as it sits now! It may not be graphical enough for most users but it loads fast. Take a look and see what you think. I am always open for suggestions. I will make it available for free download when I am finished.

Does not look that interesting but it does load fast (of course :) ). Good job :). Out of curiousity, do you know what is the total size of the original CPanel theme? BTW, have you tried GIF Optimizer, a free software capable of reducing image files to 50% while keeping its quality at 85-90%, I would say ... This little software can be used to makes the original CPanel themes load faster ....

Actually, the reason that the original cpanel themes load so slowly is because of all of the tables and frames, not necessarily the graphics (although the graphics could use a bit of optimization).

Get rid of the frames and tables and it will load nicely.

Why not just use plain text with CSS(with border style to make it looks like a button), instead of the graphics. That will be the ultimate "light" theme.
