Still now, near 5 hours, they didnt. i sent support ticket, also email at reboot@managed.com. Nothing.... mzg_z 01-14-2004, 12:52 PM Yes, I have the same problem whit Managed.com It restart my server in 4 hours, but is the only problem whit thems. All the services of managed are very very great. Mike in FL 01-14-2004, 12:59 PM Is your server down -- or what kind of problems are you having that you're unable to reboot it yourself? outpernet 01-14-2004, 01:01 PM it not ping, so no ssh... enough to ask a reboot seiler? Maybe some has an explaniation to this: look when i ping: C:\Documents and Settings\Admin>ping 69.1.67.30 -t Pinging 69.1.67.30 with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. What this mean? mean that all the subnet is down? why the reply of that IP? mzg_z 01-14-2004, 01:01 PM Not, you must send email or ticket to managed.com reboot departament and it's restart your server. outpernet 01-14-2004, 01:05 PM i did it!!!!! phpdeveloper 01-14-2004, 01:16 PM That IP is a router that sends you a reply that the server is unreachable. Mark_TVI 01-14-2004, 01:20 PM Welcome to the managed.com support forums... music 01-14-2004, 01:50 PM Be sure to keep us posted with 10 minute updates. Tazzman 01-14-2004, 02:30 PM Be sure to keep us posted with 10 minute updates. Please be sure not to. It has been asked time and time again not to use these forums as a managed.com support service. Last time managed.com set up a ticket system in order to stop steps from beeing taken by the mods to reduce the number of managed.com support issues that were brought here. Please respect this. As for your servers beeing down, I'm sorry, but all I have to say to that is a very simple 2 letter word: 'ha' Tell me why you'd sign up for a server with a company that requires a credit card number in order to submit a ticket and charges $50 an hour if you want to be guaranteed same day service: Priority (Same Day) Services $50.00 / Hour I'm not exactly sure what they mean with 'priority services', but the inclarity of some of the information on the site only adds to why I'd never sign up with them. Mark_TVI 01-14-2004, 02:41 PM Tell me why you'd sign up for a server with a company that requires a credit card number in order to submit a ticket and charges $50 an hour if you want to be guaranteed same day service: Are you serious? This is how their ticket system works? Tazzman 01-14-2004, 02:48 PM That's how it seems to work, just have a look here: https://secure.managed.com/service.htm Of course, I don't have a server with them and I'm not going to try and submit a ticket just to find out. Last time they got told off here, they opened a perldesk helpdesk, but I can't seem to find that anywhere anymore, so to me it looks like they may have removed it. In other words, to me it looks like you only have 2 ways of contacting them: https://secure.managed.com/service.htm (which could possibly just be a formmail script that sends the form to their email anyway, maybe somebody feels like having a look at the coding of the page to confirm how this is handled). Mark_TVI 01-14-2004, 02:55 PM I click the support link in the header and I get their AUP. :uhh: It does appear to be a FormMail.pl script... milljea 01-14-2004, 02:59 PM Moderators please make a category for Manage.com Please . . . . . . :D sassSE 01-14-2004, 02:59 PM Originally posted by Watcher_TVI I click the support link in the header and I get their AUP. :uhh: After clicking the support link, click on the tabs/buttons to the left of the page..check out the "Professional Support" button. :) sirius 01-14-2004, 03:00 PM Originally posted by Tazzman That's how it seems to work, just have a look here: https://secure.managed.com/service.htm Of course, I don't have a server with them and I'm not going to try and submit a ticket just to find out. You clearly have no idea what you are talking about... Managed.com has a Perldesk installation that all customers can access, can send e-mail to support@managed.com (which automatically opens a ticket) or send e-mail to reboot@managed.com If your going to attempt to trash a company, at least get your facts straight. Why would WHT possibly create a category for one small provider? Maybe someday managed.com will create their own forum as they promised. sassSE 01-14-2004, 03:02 PM Originally posted by milljea Some people just cant read or are very simple. ha :D Well, normally one would expect to find "support" information when clicking on a button called "support". :P Incognito 01-14-2004, 03:03 PM Originally posted by mzg_z Yes, I have the same problem whit Managed.com It restart my server in 4 hours, but is the only problem whit thems. As long as you believe 4 hours for a reboot is acceptable (no...correction...you said their services are very very great) you should continue to shill for them. outpernet 01-14-2004, 03:03 PM the server is still down.... they dont charge for reboots and support included (if it has any usefull use. now more than 6 hours... neither a response): https://helpdesk.managed.com/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi Mike in FL 01-14-2004, 03:06 PM Originally posted by Tazzman ... they opened a perldesk helpdesk, but I can't seem to find that ... https://helpdesk.managed.com/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi Mark_TVI 01-14-2004, 03:12 PM Now all they need is to start the support forums they promised the Mods they would start so we can have our Dedicated Server Forum back.... sirius 01-14-2004, 03:18 PM Originally posted by Watcher_TVI Now all they need is to start the support forums they promised the Mods they would start so we can have our Dedicated Server Forum back.... I've never seen someone whine about something like this, more than you. It's incredible. Sirius Mark_TVI 01-14-2004, 03:20 PM You don't get out much :D sirius 01-14-2004, 03:21 PM Originally posted by Watcher_TVI You don't get out much :D Apparently not. Sirius Tazzman 01-14-2004, 03:37 PM There are reasons for the adversity and whining. Just look up some of the old managed.com posts. Not every company replies to valid questions by trying to make the person that asked them look inferior and acting childish. I've had my fare share of that behaviour, that's why I generally tend to ignore the managed.com threads, though every now and then I get the urge to interfere, like today ;) And to the person who claimed I didn't know anything, if you read back you'll see that I clearly stated I was not a customer and wasn't sure how their system worked and whether they still had perldesk up. I never claimed to be all knowing, which I know I'm not because I know everything. OK, now I'm confused :D 2Grumpy 01-14-2004, 03:42 PM Where is my "report the whole damn thread" button, god I'm with Watcher_TVI on this one, I'm tired of hearing how bad managed.com sucks with a half dozen new threads every day extolling the crappiness of a dedicated provider that has 9-5 support, doesn't take a genius to realize that's gonna suck... I vote toss the whole thread and make managed.com become *********** if this continues. Tazzman 01-14-2004, 03:49 PM herehere, I'm with Dixiesys !!! Actually that's what they threatened to do last time we got all the support threads comming here, but by opening the perldesk helpdesk, they saved their own behinds just in time. I say no more bail this time. Let's put them in the slammer :) Loon 01-14-2004, 03:57 PM Originally posted by seiler https://helpdesk.managed.com/cgi-bin/pdesk.cgi Somebody needs to tell them their SSL cert is out of date :] outpernet 01-14-2004, 04:02 PM well ... finally they rebooted the server..
