I just registered a 2 nameservers for my domain name ns1.mydomain.com
ns2.mydomain.com

I was wondering how long it takes for my registar (registerfly) to register these as nameservers, and when or how will I know that these nameservers are ready to be used?

I think it tales 24 hours.
When you register the namesevers add them to a domain name, and if the domain shows up then the nameservers work.

1. http://www.netsol.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois
2. check Nameserver
3. Enter ns1.mydomain.com
4. Press Go!

If it is there, then it will show up.

Asia,

You may have registered your nameserver and it may never be there.

The best is to go to internic.com and do the search there. If it is listed, resolve to your nameserver ns.yourdomain.com. You can either use nslookup, ping, dig, whatever you;d like.

if it is resolvable, then it is up.

This still completely depends on all the DNS servers around the world due to caching.

I would say the safe bet is about 72 hours.
