About a year ago I registered a domain name that was also a Honda motor code. ( a honda forum)

With no traffic at all, and with only 85 members posting once every couple months, I kept the site running....

Today I went to google and it looks like I am #3 when entering that engine code....

So now I have an initiative to promote my site :P
Can google take away that spot in the future? HOw does this work... I mean, I know about the google bot and stuff but how can I amke sure this listing stays at the top?

ALso the webpage used to be on ensim for the last 6 months and now it is on cpanel... DOes that make a difference on how the page will be indexed?

Any advice will be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I know I am in the lounge but I am looking for different opinions on this.

THANK YOU!!!,

Nikos

Can google take away that spot in the future? Certainly they could. They tweak their algorithms regularly, other sites make changes that affect ranking, changes in linking result in changes in PageRank, which in turn change rankings, etc.

But for something as unique an engine code you're not looking at really tough competition, and it's your domain name as well... especially for single-word domains that's useful. Most likely you'll always be near the top. But is that really useful? Do people search for that code, and are the people that do search for it looking for a site like yours?

Most likely you'd be better off not worrying about where you rank for that (decent rankings, again, will probably come naturally) and working instead on building links and finding other keyword phrases for which to optimize.
