They called me on behalf of my discovercard merchant account and said they can place me in 3-5 catagories with yahoo and i will have a listing in the yahoo yellow pages and high rankings on major search engines all for 39/month. This sounds to good to be true, so i thought i would see if anyone here uses this before making a commitment to something like this.
Thanks for any info on this. They say it is a no contract month to month thing so i was thinking it may be worth a month trial.
Hey...Telemarketing does work  I always give a curt/cold reply when those "Sir, we have a special offer for you" people call.
Douglas 01-13-2004, 12:30 PM Stay away from ANYONE that promises to deliver more traffic to you. TrafficMagnet is, by far, the worst company I've ever seen. They were so brazen, I blocked them server wide at one point, simply because I was tired of their BS spam, after I called them and told them to remove me, they actually increased their spam.
Hoax, BS marketing, dummy hits. Plain and simple.
hendricknet 01-13-2004, 10:55 PM Traffic + no conversions = waste of money
It doesn't matter how much traffic you get if it's not targeted and people that are not interested in your product.
peersignal 01-13-2004, 11:07 PM Never heard of it, but doesn't look like anything useful.

COOLASU 01-13-2004, 11:38 PM Thanks guys, looks like i will tell then to take a long walk off a short pier.
VapoRub 01-14-2004, 12:11 AM Might be good for branding.... If you are looking for conversions to sales, you might just be throwing money into the deep sea if you use them.
kris1351 01-14-2004, 12:59 AM We got that same call and tried it out. They place you in Switchboard and Yahoo Internet Yellow pages and nothing else. It is not worth the money. There are much more efficient ways. They also never delivered the materials for custom descriptions, monitoring or updates they promised.
COOLASU 01-14-2004, 05:05 AM Kris1351 Thats the response i was waiting for thank you so much for sharing your experience with them.
Thanks to everyone for you feedback
cmaniutiu 01-14-2004, 07:45 PM don't even think about it , they only take your money and then leave, better give them to a homeless guy or something

We used them to and found pretty much the same results..
One of the big reasons I went with them was, they said I was assigned a 'rep' for my account and they aid in SEO on the site and guarantee 'top search rating'.
Well their 'rep' was just some bloke who was next in call queue, and he seemed very anxious to get rid of me. He asked a question and after my first 2 words, would begin the next question
Then as for SE optimization.. bahhaha the guy was like "Your keywords are perfect, we will go with those"....umm I had like 3 keywords then and never even tried to do any SEO work to site.
This fool is trying to tell me my site is "highly optimized already".
Plus their so called guarantee about top placement meant your site be listed in first 5 pages 'guaranteed'
I could go on.. but this was enough waste of time talking about them... My advice....Hang up phone if they call!!!
prohostweb 07-22-2004, 12:44 PM Thank God for WHT!

I would like to know why a credit card company is giving out such information as well, maybe they are not, and they got the info from some place they should not have. Either way would be interesting to know what the deal is with that.

sharkman 03-09-2006, 06:02 PM i can't belive I'm saying this, but guys I love you. just saved me $50, I'm very upset with discover. that's it now credit card companies sell our list
markjut 03-09-2006, 06:32 PM I wouldn't use it as you never can be sure those services do what they are claiming
