You need to buy the SQL Server Processor Version. Licensing Info (http://www.microsoft.com/sql/howtobuy/default.asp) . The price is around $5000. A cal is just a license for a single user to connect. It is not the actual software.

Do a search for sql license, it's been discussed many times in the past. The processor license may not be appropriate depending on what you're doing, eg if you're a hosting business, you need service provider licenses instead.

If you are using the license for your own server (ie not hosting) you need to purchase a MS SQL 2000 Standard 1 CPU. The license is $4-5K depending upon where you purchase it. In order to access the server by the Internet, it must be the CPU license, not the CAL version.

If you are using it for hosting, very different license requirements. You must become part of Microsofts SPLA.

Feel free to PM me with any questions, I'm happy to help where I can.
