Please could someone help me, what do you use to send mail on a server using asp?
I don't know much about asp but one of my customers wants to know what program our server uses (he suggests: ASPMail, JMail, OCXMail, CDONTS.NewMail) I have done a whereis and there don't seem to be any of these, is he supposed to use sendmail or is that just for CGI programs?
Is there a preinstalled mail program with chilliasp ? If not and you can't use send mail, where can I get one, which one is the best and how do you install it?

Try SpiceSoft from ChiliSoft
You can get it with the ASP 3.6 Update from them for free :-)

If you're running Chilisoft, find out if you have the SpiceRack installed. It contains the SpiceMail component that you can use. Also, you could you use sendmail. Point the form (that sits on in an asp page) to a mailing script (cgi) and have it redirect back to an asp when it finishes sending.
If your customer is trying to use a pre-written ASP script, the sendmail option could be a problem as most scripts I've seen reference CDONTS, ASPmail, SpiceMail, etc. From what I understand, SpiceMail works nearly the same as CDONTS, just might have tweak the script a bit.

It's very simple..
You just have to mail to the chilisoft team (you'll find the right adress for cobalt updates on their page) and you'll get an ftp account to download the pkg files :-)
You have to tell them the serial no of your server.. that's all

Just one last thing, is the serial number stored on the server or do I have to ask my supplier for it?

I got mine off them fro free when I upgraded to 3.60 - although there are still no mySQL drivers for the newer versions of MySQL which is a pain as I want to update that too :(
