I just upgraded to win2000pro ( roAr! ) from win 98 and I have a problem. When I go to download .exe files the browser directs to a page rather than download the file and it shows that broken image thingmy in the top left of the screen. I dunno whats gwanin? Any help would be appreciated ( and yes I have upgraded all the patches & service packs ).

that's strange, maybe you can try right click + save target as...

Yeah, thats what I ended up doing but its rather annoying when the download page auto redirects you to the downloaded file and you cant right click in time. Im going to get to the bottom of this, even if I have to take a baseball bat to this box.
