InuxMedia 01-10-2004, 10:38 AM Can any recommend me a good company, long time working, good support and prices for reseller? phillip31 01-10-2004, 10:56 AM Thats a hard one. I would say look up a buisness on the net see what there like and do some research on them ask them questions ask for refrences then make your mind up thats what I see alot. I would also look at the datacentre used then do some research on it i.e. look it up here and else where. And check the host out in the real world etc. See if they offer telephone support and that they are a registered buisness that will give you some safe guards. Also most hosts will allow you to trial them out if there any good and confident. But its up to them if they give you a free trail before buying etc. Ive been asking things for a while I have done some research etc on some and have found yes to this no becuase of that. Phil. ThePrimeHost 01-10-2004, 11:51 AM A few that have been on the forum for a number of years are: http://httpme.com http://unitedhosting.co.uk http://gigabean.com Best Regards, -Darrell Tiago 01-10-2004, 01:10 PM My recomedations: http://www.httpme.com http://www.bluewho.com http://www.clook.net blockman0 01-10-2004, 01:20 PM I highly suggest CredibleHost. FTPguy 01-10-2004, 01:42 PM Venturesonline.com (http://www.venturesonline.com/hosting/bulk-reseller.html) might be worth looking at. Unlike others mentioned, (correct me if I am wrong) they own their own data center (http://www.venturesonline.com/network/data-center-tour.html). Toll free (USA/Canada) phone number, and an off network support web site are pluses. All this and more with competively priced plans. Jasber 01-10-2004, 02:29 PM I'm using www.idologic.com and they have been great. SEARCH (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=) for any of these web hosts and you'll likely find nothing but high praise. Best of luck on your search and thank you for not looking for dirt cheap $1/mo web hosting offering 5GB/100GB :) MaFunk 01-10-2004, 11:22 PM bluewho httpme great uptime good support fantastico bluewho will transfer all of your accounts for free http will do it for $50 FTPguy 01-10-2004, 11:38 PM I know VO has RAID-5 for disk redundancy and off-server reseller account backups (tape) with a 14 day retention cycle. Do other resellers mentioned in this thread offer this? coight 01-11-2004, 12:32 AM No, most think a backup to a second drive is sufficient ;) coight 01-11-2004, 12:33 AM Originally posted by theprimehost A few that have been on the forum for a number of years are: Best Regards, -Darrell Is this based on experience with these hosts? InuxMedia 01-11-2004, 02:00 AM I think I'm going with dathorn.com fuse1982 01-11-2004, 08:03 AM then go with dathorn, you won't regret! they just too good for that price! FTPguy 01-11-2004, 12:10 PM Originally posted by MN-Robert No, most think a backup to a second drive is sufficient ;) While I know that is the "norm" in many cases Robert, I also read about www.Spenix.com and I for one would be willing to pay more (actually the same or less in cases than some providers mentioned in this thread) to have my clients data on an off-server tape backup. trustedurl.com 01-11-2004, 07:45 PM Originally posted by FTPguy to have my clients data on an off-server tape backup. Actually at the research lab that I work we've completely switched to backup servers. The funny thing is we've got 10 year old harddrives spinning every happily, but a 5 year old tape is bust or the drive that reads it is bust. I personally think that well setup backup-servers are the way to go, specifically for non-archival purposes. Jori 01-12-2004, 07:56 AM idologic has got my vote too. They are great and go extra miles!! coight 01-12-2004, 08:36 AM I agree with you idologic. superfrog 01-12-2004, 09:14 AM Since this topic is abt "Best" reseller and I think everyone has it's idea of "Best". I would hope to get some opinion between bluewho and clook, whom in past r/v were both highly rated. ceridius 01-12-2004, 07:33 PM check out www.resellerconnection.com bayouhost_tonya 01-12-2004, 11:20 PM servers.timdorr.com (http://servers.timdorr.com) $5 per 2GB / 50GB Techark 01-13-2004, 12:18 AM Originally posted by pixetech servers.timdorr.com (http://servers.timdorr.com) $5 per 2GB / 50GB Do you use them as your host or have you used them as your host? bayouhost_tonya 01-13-2004, 12:46 AM Yes, I still do use them for some of my hosting.
