what is a good configuration for a Y2K server ?
ram ?
CPU ?
Motherbaord?
connection ?
software & web admin tools ?
backup device ?
need it for a heavy traffic site.

Anything you buy these days will be y2k compliant. As for "heavy," maybe a P3 866 w/ 256-512 RAM? For the motherboard, just get one that supports what you want to use and go with a well-known server manufacturer like ASUS, Tyan, or Intel.
It really depends on your definition of heavy. :)
I don't have any advice, but I'm willing to bet Y2K was a typo, and that the original poster meant W2k (Windows 2000)... :)
