Hello,

I need a suggestion immediately. IN short, I started a site, hosted it on a normal server (9.95). The site proved to be a hit over night. Now I am getting millions of hits a day ... like 10GB a day you can say .... also due to many requests at time the server gets down every hour. that company cant handle now.

Just suggest me a company.... following are the facts and requirements.

1. no money problem ... not at all
2. it should be the company's duty to make sure 99.999 uptime whatever the case might be.

3. 24/7 online chat/email and phone suuport
4. They should managed servers ..
5. Daily back ups.
6. Dedicated server and dedicated bandwidth required

i mean i dont want to take any headache ... I want the hosting company to manage my site as far as hosting is concerned .. I want the company to treat my site special. I am not in USA but I want server in USA. Please suggest me the best hosting company ... IF MONEY IS NO PROBLEM.

Regards,
MK

Maybe try Verio or Qwest? Both offer Dedicated Servers (I believe) and have an amazing uptime (if you are inside their NOCs using their equipment). Support may be a different story. I have had very good experience from Qwest's sales dept (then again, they are trying to get my money!) and Verio's sales dept is run by some monkies I think. But if you need a server to be always up and need little support from them for your server, they should be fine.

Also try www.pwebtech.com. They host in Verio datacenters I think, and from what I hear have decent support.

www.qwest.com :)

Might want to call them, I don't usually find what I'm looking for on their site. They are a big player in the Internet 2 testing and development. Pretty big stuff.

Qwest seems to be less interested in hosting...

Verio support is really notorious....

Any comments about

virualis (Now Hosting.com)
Venturesonline.com

Can I suggest www.inetu.com. They host and manage a cluster of load-balanced servers for a company that I work for and have provided excellent support for us.

We use 1000+ Gb/Month

If you mean virtualis (also virtualisys), stay away.

I've had a managed dedicated server with http://www.qwk.net since January. So far, so good.

I said money is no problem. But after visiting inetu.com , i realise that money is always a proble. They are asking for $3500 per month for just 100GB bandwidth, isn't it ridiculous? How musch you were paying for 1000GB, probably $1 Million.

Thanks to all of you!

Every company I have visited so far seems not to be so generous when it comes to Bandwidth.

Their plans go like this.

10GB $200/month
30 GB $395/month
50 GB $595/month
75 GB $795/month

What is this?

When Rackshack can offer 250GB of bandwidth why cant they ....? Whats the catch? Please suggest the best hosting company which is not so worried about the Bandwidth.

I can't host on Rack Shack due to some other reasons.

I'd recommend my two current hosts verio.net and voxel.net, both are in the $3/GB and below price range, verio beeing a little more expensive. Especially if you need much (additional) hardware e.g. for heavy scripting verio costs an arm and a leg. IP's come pricy too. Overage bandwidth is only $150/50 GB though. Both are not the cheapest around but reasonable priced (except hardware at verio). Voxel is hosting this board and sits on the superb above.net network.

I am a couple of weeks there now and no downtime that I'd be aware of. Very nice speed too. At verio, I have a dedicated for almost two years now. Awesome support, first class uptime. Actually, THEY tell ME when there is a problem with the server before I even recognice. And there was only a few downtimes in these 2 years with the longest beeing less than an hour. New dedicated's are beeing put on a slightly less quality network nowadays though as far as I can tell. Still nice and such but more hops and longer ping times than voxel.net.

I would suggest going with efreeservers.com for this one. If your server is pull that much bandwidth they have the cheapest prices for bandwidth. We have never used them, but I haven't heard anything bad about them either i suggest doing a search on the forum for them.

Seems like you are an adult host, mp3, or warez. Doubt you will find any good priced bandwidth supplier, supplying to these types of sites. If you are adult, I still suggest RackSpace.com, they are the best in managed services, and offer hosting for adult hosts. You can get $3.00/GIG and cheaper.

If you want not so good uptime, and non-managed servers, you could go with Cobaltracks.com They provide 200 GIG solutions plus extra bandwidth at $2.75/GIG for somewhere around $275.00/month. These servers also can come with 60 GIG hard drives and 512 MB.

Search Around, may be easier to just hire someone to admin your system, and go with a cheaper plan. Colocation may sound good for you too. Cheap bandwidth plus good uptime, but could get heavy since you need administration and would have to purchase your own server.

oops sorry for reposting that. I'm not THAT proud of it lol.

While we are at it. Both I recommended would allow that sort of content as long as it is legal in the US.

Everything is negociable.
