View Full Version : Best TV show?
stftk 01-10-2004, 02:09 AM I find myself loving the tv shows that are on primetime this year.
I think 24 is the best show ever created, hands down. If any of you have watched season 1 and season 2, and now season 3, you would know how great of a show it is.
Dan
Barbara 01-10-2004, 02:16 AM Where's the option for "None of the above" since I don't watch any of those shows?
epolady 01-10-2004, 02:19 AM Never watched 24, I don't think I get the channel. I do get CBS and I'm an avid CSI fan, so CSI (Las Vegas) gets my vote.
stftk 01-10-2004, 02:19 AM Slipped my mind (-;
You're sure you dont get Fox?
westcan 01-10-2004, 02:31 AM CSI is the best show ever. Followed by 24 and simpsons.
Critic 01-10-2004, 02:57 AM Well my personl favourite TV show of my life to date with nothing coming close in my book is...drum role, Stargate Sg-1. Never a wasted minute when watching it, always quality.
However there was no "Other" option on the list so...
Well i've never seen 24 but it has always sounded watchable.
CSI Miami and the old one is ok but i haven't really watched it enough to comment a lot.
Never seen the Raymond one.
However i've seen nearlly all the Simpsons episodes and follow Alias but the former has to get it for me by the hours i've wathced it if nothing else.

Nah, we don't get Fox. Heck, we don't have cable. Bunny ears... ~$7 at Wal-Mart.
We get ABC (barely), Telemundo!, PBS, some religious channel, and CBS. We rarely watch TV (except for CSI and the News).
stftk 01-10-2004, 03:15 AM Ouch, I dont know what I would do without cable.
I shouldve put a 'other' option in, maybe a mod could edit the poll to include a 'other' option.
Im suprised so many of you dont watch 24. 24 had the highest viewer ratings aside from football this past week.
Dan
epolady 01-10-2004, 03:28 AM Heh, I don't mind being cable-less. I could probably watch a few more shows, and usually we do during dinner. I like King of Queens, Raymond, etc, too, but not as much as CSI. Usually if I miss a new episode of CSI, I freak out, lol.
I'm sure alot of people watch 24, I think one member here runs a 24 forum.
You can report your first post and ask a mod to edit the poll.
Mrdredd 01-10-2004, 03:31 AM I really hated 24... it was one of the worst pieces of crap fox ever made.
Critic 01-10-2004, 03:35 AM I've heard great things about 24 but i've never gotten round to it, there's only so much TV i can watch in a week. I don't watch as much as i used to and the reality stuff is everywhere, that is enough of a turn off.
I have British cable so 24 and CSI get routed through different channels anyway, not to mention we are a few months behind the US at a minimum.
Going back to the poll, i'd say that The Simpsons is like an institution now and you just have to think how long it has been running, not many shows will do that. The Movies will be HUGE if the series is anything to go by.
BF-Gary 01-10-2004, 03:38 AM What no Star Trek Option?
I assume we are talking best tv show "this year" (including last year).
Stargate SG-1 is getting kinda cheezy. The writers really have ruined the whole story line. I hate saying that cause I really liked the show, and I never get tired of the movie.
24 is pretty good. Now that its the 3rd season, I'm getting good at making predictions. This is about the only show I look forward to right now.
I've only seen a few episodes of Las Vegas, but from what I've seen, its pretty cool.
Smallville's not bad. Its usually entertaining as long as its not a freak of the week episode.
I haven't seen many new episodes of the simpsons. I usually just watch reruns. Rarely do I watch the "new" episodes.
Woah, can't forget King of the Hill....Thats always good for a laugh.

Steven 01-10-2004, 04:01 AM TheScreenSavers on techtv :) but really the simpsons
secludo 01-10-2004, 05:14 AM Roseanne :)
gina_ 01-10-2004, 04:42 PM i dont watch much TV, but Thursday night Friends is a necessity!... when i remember that its on... :(
I knew The Simpsons would wreck all the other shows... there just is no comparing to it... it's simply hilarious!
I'm surprised Alias got only 1 vote though, it would have been my second choice... though Jennifer Garner would probably be the only convincing factor to watch it.
:D :stickout:
ArcticKid 01-10-2004, 04:50 PM Oh my god, Roseanne is the best show, but I had to pick CSI:Miami.
Vortex-Steve 01-10-2004, 05:19 PM I couldn't decide! I love 24, both the CSI series and of course The Simpsons!
hendricknet 01-10-2004, 06:26 PM IMO the original CSI was better than CSI:Miami.
CSI is a great show. It is one of the few that holds my attention long enough to actually sit down and watch. I'm not a big television fan.

I like both of them a lot. Miami has better scenery and hotter women on the cast, but Horatio (David Caruso) is too preachy and philosophical.
bagpuss 01-10-2004, 06:35 PM I haven't seen Everybody loves Raymond, but there is no comparision between the rest of those shows and The Simpsons.
As for 24 I liked the first few episodes, but I soon gave up on it has it became increasingly ludicrous and cliched.
Out of the list, i'd choose "Everybody Loves Raymond".
desman 01-10-2004, 07:02 PM :homer: Hmmmmmm waffle run off
The Simpsons
NxTek 01-10-2004, 07:09 PM WWE RAW!

Yeah man if your ever looking for someone to talk to about 24 its me man I haven't missed an episode and own seasons 1 & 2, and can't wait to see the final of this season.
BTW.. can you belive that Tony and ugh whats his name ummm ugh sorry drawing a blank on names, but do you belive he really wasn't bad that was the biggest shock to me.
stftk 01-11-2004, 02:36 AM Hmm,
Im not sure which part your relating to, maybe:
- where they question if Tony can do the job but he is actually doing good?
- or where you find out when Jack is really still a good guy?
- Or a couple episodes back when it showed that Hector and Jack had a plan when Jack got off plane?
So far I think season 2 was the best, but there is always room for this season to improve.
Dan
Tropical Tundra 01-11-2004, 02:40 AM I never got into 24. From your list The Simpsons and CSI Las Vegas are great. The Sopranos is my favorite TV show. Season five starts in 2 months!
FF8Jake 01-11-2004, 05:41 AM I'd say Star Trek: TNG
