Snort is an intrustion detection system. It is similar to PortSentry, but better.

Chkrootkit checks for signs of a rootkit (read: a hacked Raq) - to quote our web page "Though some boxes are more secure than others, there are still two types of administrators - admins who have had their server appliances hacked, and admins who will have their server appliances hacked." ;)
