Hi,

we are going to deploy an e-commerce engine (web based application) that would be:

--- easy to install and easy to use (really easy web based admin)
--- feature rich (VAT, sales tax, shipping, discounts, multilingual etc etc)
--- poweful scripting language included
--- ability to connect to some credit card companies (and more as modules)
--- rich admin statistics (who bought what, which products are the most popular)
--- OS independant

[...] and many more features.

Any idea what would be a good cost to have for such a system? This is meant for ISPs and web designers / web hosters.

Should there be a monthly cost (including free updates) or a fixed cost?

And what is the cost that you, the SALES / managerial people would pay for such a thing?

Please share your ideas!

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Is it going to be free? If not, this thread should go in the 'Related Offers and Request' Forums.

Nope, I am not offering service or anything. The product is not ready. We just had a discussion about possible pricing with colleagues therefore we ask for industry opinion.

If still I am in wrong forum, could please a moderator move it to the appropriate forum (sorry)?

What I am asking for is opinions on the cost that a web host would LIKE to pay for an e-commerce solution.

Thanks,

nick

Also, what kind of software for e-commerce each is using?

Custom made? In house? Some suite?

I moved it here so that you can be a bit more free with your discussion about the product, if need be.
