Hi,
I have a website of about 50MB.
I also would like a few e-mail accounts.
I would like the hosting to be in the UK or pay for it with UK Stirling.
Preferably a UK support line.
I want the bandwith to be able to cope with 200 visitors a day. It is currently about 90.
I want the domain name to appear in the bottom left corner. Thus, if the page is uploaded into the root folder and the file is links.htm then I want it to say www.mydomain.com/links.htm
Can anybody suggest any companies and tell me their experiences with them?
Thanks,
Russ

I can see your point about wanting a UK host... I only wanted to deal with a UK hosting company, but I began to realise how much more cheap US hosts are (and I'm not just talking about scams, in general US hosting offers more features for a better price). And if you get a good host, gaining support at any time isn't a problem.
However, if you've got your heart set on a UK host check out 34SP.com (http://www.34sp.com). They're prices are reasonable and the support is generally good.
If by any chance you take on board what I'm saying about going for a US based host then check out Aletia Hosting (http://www.aletia.com).
Hope that helps :)

Hi people,
The sites that you are suggesting are great!
Any chance of the cost being around £30 to £40?

we (netnoteinc.com) use them to host our management reporting system (which needs 100% uptime) and we've never had any problems... they are very professional...

Ok,
Broadening the net further....
Can anybody suggest a host that I can pay for with UK Stirling?
I want the things as above but for about £30 a year.
Anybody suggest anything?

Russ

I think you might struggle to get that lot for £30 a year (for the benefit of our American cousins, £30 is about $45 :E ). The space wouldn't be a problem, and having a few mailboxes are atainable for that price... but having 200 visitors a day will mean a bit of bandwidth. (This really depends on whether your site is graphic intensive, has many downloads, etc.)
Anyhoo, again I would say 34sp.com. For £20 a year you get :
50Mb space
600Mb Bandwidth (you may need to upgrade this)
10 POP3 E-mail addresses
and a lot of other good features.
I don't want to make this sound like I'm particularly pimping 34sp, but so far my service has been good (apart from the one occasion when I had a problem with my webmail, but from the forums it seems that very few people have problems with the service)

I can vouch for dsvr and kdawebservices - you will be most impressed with either, their slightly higher prices are well worth it.
