Hello,
I am planning to change the Intel STL2 motherboard on a server that is hosting several accounts
Will there be any configuration to RH 7.1 server if I change the STL2 Intel motherboard?
If you are changing to an identical motherboard, it should just work as-is. If you are changing from a different board, there may be differences in IDE drivers, etc, depending on what features are on-board (NIC, sound, etc). If the NIC is on-board and is not the same chipset, you will have to reconfigure the NIC.
RH 7.x with the stock kernel is pretty good about auto-configuring new devices, as long as they are supported. If you've upgraded or recompiled your kernel, this may not be the case, depending on how much you changed from stock...
But again, if it's an identical board, I don't think RedHat will know or care that it's been swapped out.

Hello,
If I replace the current Intel STL2 motherboard with another Intel STL2 motherboard, will RH 7.1 auto-detect the information on the new Intel STL2 motherboard..like the Adapter Address on the NIC.
I don't want to change it, and get 1 or more errors when I boot up the server.
The only time the MAC address will be an issue is if you are using MAC access control. If any software on any machine or router on your network has a MAC access list of some kind, you will need to update that list.
If you don't have enough experience with Linux to make hardware changes to a production system, I can't recommend that you attempt it yourself. You might want to contract a Linux guru to assist you in the process, someone who could take care of any problems quickly in the event something doesn't work right.

How about this?
If your server has a hotswap drive, with several accounts on the drive, can you pull that hotswap drive and plug it in another another server. Would it still work smoothly if you plug the hotswap drive ( with data) to another server and turn the server on?
