I'm planning on getting a VDS and offer Reselling Hosting.

I'm just wondering how am I supposed to set up my nameservers for my main site, shared hosted sites and reseller sites.

I' ve been thinking:

ns1.hostexample.com
ns2.hostexample.com

for the main host's site and accounts under shared and:

ns1.somednsname.com
ns2.somednsname.com

I've seen many MANY sites hosted under unsignificative name servers, is that because they are under a reseller?

What about IP addresses? ideally 4 or I could just use 2?

Help me, I'm just confusing myself more...... (btw suggestions for that somednsname?)

Thanks as always!
:)

Many resellers use their "own nameserver" to mask away the host provider's nameservers, thus creating a more professional image. Is a NS pointing game though

you can use the same IPs for different nameservers.

some registrar allows you to register many nameservers to the same IP address

but technically wuld be totally wrong if 1 nameserver goes down the others would :)

The best would be to have a different IP address for each DNS, like that they are harder to trace and independent...
I have a question but about WHM and DNS, when setting up, should I, as example, use:

ns1.somednsname.com
ns2.somednsname.com

Then, is there a way also to give a reseller a DNS if they want to?

Like using the same ip but I would have

ns1.resellername.com
ns2.resellername.com

What about spam? will it always send up from the server with the server ip?

Thank you!
