I just visited Swiftwill.com and could not find who there backbone providers were so I asked. Here is their response:
you: Hi, I was wondering who your backbone providers are.
swiftw: you from another hosting company or something?
swiftw: that's so annoying,..
swiftw: don't you know how to traceroute?

I asked about if they could custom build a server and they said that I should just leave because I probably dont use more than 1,000gb bw. I asked what that was about and he responded:
swiftw: right now we are short on servers
swiftw: no we dont make custom servers what is on our web site is what you get

I hope they get some better support.....

Lol. Good support is the one thing nearly every company promises, but almost none can provide.

I guess they dont know what good customer service means, eh?
From that point, I would just say "bye bye".. How can they be so rude..

I would have expected a response such as you received.
They just didn't strike me as very professional.

They sound kinda hostile on those answers to me---not happy.

// Standard Support // At many other hosting companies, you'll find that phone support is only offered between the hours of 9am to 5pm, if at all. With us, on the other hand, you'll benefit from 24/7 support via our toll free phone number, email, aolim, icq, irc or any other form of communication that is convenient for you. In addition, most hosting companies will charge you an hourly fee in order to install scripts or make custom configurations to your account, whereas at Swiftwill we will assist you for free. We care about your businesess being successful and will go above and beyond the call of duty to help make that happen.

Yeah.. sure.. That's when elephants can fly and the taliban rules the world!

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'swiftw'
swiftw: hi how can I help you
you: Hi.. I'm interested in your virtual hosting packages and couldn't find any info about your network..
you: Can you give me some info on it?
you: Hello?
swiftw: yeah? what do you want to know?
you: Where's your network operations center located and who are your providers?
swiftw: virtual plans handled by level3 and california
swiftw: what site do you run?
you: how about redundancy? You just have level3?
swiftw: only level3
you: I dont have a website yet.. I'm just shopping around first..
swiftw: for your virtual plan
swiftw: we've had a total o like 10 min downtime
swiftw: with them
swiftw: since starting 6 months ago
you: Just level3? What happens if the router to level3 goes down?
you: no BGP?
swiftw: then our backup providers kick in
swiftw: but not for 10 min downtime
you: Who?
you: you said.. you just have level3
swiftw: what do you care?
swiftw: yes but we have backups
you: now you're saying you have backup providers?
you: what do I care?
swiftw: redundancy as you said
swiftw: yes we do
you: if my site is hosted with you? of course I care..
swiftw: but we do not feature them
swiftw: why are you so worried about our network going down?
you: I will care if your my host.. I dont want my website to be down..
you: I guess your not what I'm looking for then..
swiftw: ther eare 500 other factors that would more than likely contribute to downtime than that,..
swiftw: k
swiftw: wehave many happy customers
swiftw: have a nice day
you: quote from your website: "We care about your businesess being successful and will go above and beyond the call of duty to help make that happen. "
you: Doesn't sound like you do care from this chat..

teehee..

im thinking lower, these guys cant handle customer relations at all. Speaking of which -- these arent the only hosts with terrible support.

Well, my thoughts on the first post is that they didn't do a very good job at responding. The second post with the chat session however, they seemed ok. I'm not certain it is fair to attempt to ambush another host via human click and judge them by it (the tones, etc.).

Well I think that a host must make a very good impression in order for anyone to purchase their plan. Regarding the second conversation -- i think that the host should've been a bit more friendly and cooperative. His attitude was like the host was doing the customer a huge favor or something whereas its the otherway around since the customer is the one buying the hosting.
