Hi All,
I am keen on developing a lotto site but am not sure what government laws that may get in my way. Has anyone done this before or know what laws/regulations i must abide?
Any feedback would be great!
Thanks,
Phil

Make sure your server is located on a river. :) (Yes, I did mean that in jest, but you really never know with some of the screwy laws we have.)
Well, the us is very strict on gambling, so i suggest getting a host with no laws on gambling and moving to that country, because if you live in the us and the server is in another country, you can still be prosecuted.
The only thing i know, and don't quote me on this since i'm not sure, is that most contests, say there is "No purchase necessary" so it is not considered gambling.
I'm not a lawyer, and if you are really interested in this, i would contact a lawyer because this isn't the right forum to ask for legal advice, as someone could give you false information and the such.
Again, please contact a lawyer in your area: www.lawyers.com may be a good place to look. If you are serious about this, it's not like opening up a reseller account and calling yourself a web host. YOU ARE GOING TO NEED A LAWYER!
All the good luck to you though :)

Talk to this guy. He built a website on the Tx Lotto. My grandma goes to his website call the time for the numbers.
