Hi there,
I have been reading with great interest alot of the posts about fraud, and I will now be taking this into much greater consideration.
However, my question is this: (I will be using Worldpay)

If a new customer signs up and passes all the Worldpay checks, will that customer's account then be charged automatically, or will I be able to also provide authorization before the account is charged.

Because, my concern is that if a fraudster signs up for an account and gets through Worldpay and the account they are using is automatically charged, then I will be up for a chargeback fee etc...

So basically, I want to be able to also fully check over new customer sign ups before they are charged.....is that possible using Worldpay.....
THanks again..........

Hi,

I have been using Worldpay for around 6 months now and never (so far!!) had any problems with fraud. So no chargebacks.

I may be wrong but as far as I am aware there isnt a way for you to "authorise" the transactions, it is all fully automated - to be honest I think that this is a good thing.

Hello
You can ask Worldpay to defer all your payments pending your approval.
It would mean approving all recurring monthly charges manually.

Their security is woefully inadequate.
For example, thay allow customers not to say what country they are in which prevents the most basic card authentication.

You won't start getting chargebacks for about 5 months.
My advice is to check the IP's the orders are placed from and look for countries that don't match the country they have claimed to be from.

How can you determine the source country from the IP address? Is there a site where I can do an online lookup?
