tracyandskye 09-30-2001, 12:11 AM Host EXP, it seems that you have more time to surf this forum than to answer support emails or at the very least, send an email to all of your customers regarding an update based on reality. So I'll try to reach you here. I finally changed my DNS numbers on the 22nd after receiving an email from you that my site had been moved. My site was down for 5 days or something and so my email wasn't getting forwarded to me (big problem). When I first realized my page wasn't up I tried going to your message boards to find out the story. Your page said:
Dear Clients, The forums have been closed until server migration process has been completed. You should recieve a e-mail in 24 hours with steps to complete the movement from your side. If you have any enquires or support issues please e-mail admin@valuablehost.com Kindest Regards, - ValuableHost Administration
Now 7 days later it's still the same. That's helpful.
Finally on the 28th I got an return email that my page was up and a link to the control panel. Only I can't control anything. It says I have unlimited email but there's nowhere to set it up. So I replied to that email:
"What about forwarding my email? It's still not working and I don't see a way to set it up on my admin. page. My email is the most important part, it's been down for six days!"
Here is the answer I got back:
"Can you please clarify on what you mean, do you want to setup e-mail forwarders or?"
Duh, yeah do you guys really not get that? So I replied again:
"I had what I think was called a catchall forward so that email sent to "anything"@festivalworld.com (my url) forwards to tracyandskye@yahoo.com. I desperately need to re-establish that setup because that's the address that everyone uses to reach me and it's been bouncing mail back since the 22nd."
That was 30 hours ago. I know that this must be a total nightmare for you guys but how about giving your customers a clue as to what's really going on?
JBIZ718 09-30-2001, 12:27 AM Well
Log into the control panel then click on mail.
Then it should be pretty self explanitory from there.
Joe
SoftWareRevue 09-30-2001, 12:42 AM Actually, I don't believe that Plesk supports what you are looking for.
To my knowledge there is no way to establish a "catch-all" email address using Plesk.
JBIZ718 09-30-2001, 01:09 AM Actually plesk does have a catch all feature
You just need to get it setup to handle that.
I know when i created accounts, i did use the catch all adress on file.
But thats just from what i know

Joe Would you mind sharing how to do this?
JBIZ718 09-30-2001, 02:30 AM Log into the panel and click on edit
The email address listed there is your default one.
What ever that address is will be your catch all email address.
I know that when I set up the accounts that all accounts had catch email enabled. If it isnt working your host can easily turn it on.

Click update
Should resolve issue

Actually, please don't attempt to reach him here. You may post your story about your experiences, you may ask for general help, but please do not post support requests as this is not their support forum.
I'll ask HostEXP not to respond to requests on the forum. Please use the email feature of the forum (both of you) in regards to support issues.
edude 09-30-2001, 04:32 AM Your e-mails where answered, please do not use such censored language in your e-mails. You were mistaken in your email, your site and files are already on the new server. Also regarding the answer to your first e-mail, it could of mean't various things, such as forwarding mail sent to you that are stored in the Que, and so on.
Regards.

Joe Thanks Joe!
Guess I should have explored that a lot further.
Maybe someone should tell Plesk. I've seen that question asked in their forum. And have seen the answer, "Plesk has no way to set up a default mailbox."
Your solution works perfectly though.
Thanks for the info :)
tracyandskye 09-30-2001, 10:37 AM Actually it does work but there is a little more to it than that. When I log onto the control panel there are only buttons for "edit, report, and preferences". Call me stupid but not seeing any place to configure the email that it said I had, I did a search for "email" but it brought back nothing. So I clicked on the "help" button. Nothing about email. To be fair I will say that if I had read the page generated by the "help" button more carefully I would have seen that I had to click on my domain name to get to my domains admin. page. I was looking for something about email though, and silly me, I just logged into this admin. page. I didn't know that there was another admin. page behind the admin. page. A simple email to the valuablehost customers covering this new control panel seems like it would have been agood idea. Especially since the valuablehost forums have been down.
edude 09-30-2001, 11:25 AM Hello,
I will send out a e-mail covering the new control panel, when i get some spare time.
Regards,
HostEXP
