I was thinking : lot of people register "adult domains" just to sell them again for much money. There are still a few good "adult domains" available.
But what I wonder : if you sell the domain, and it is afterwards used for a porn site with illegal content, aren't you legally responsable as well by selling a domain to people that will use it for such a site ?
I mean, I don't visit "adult" sites and I will never have any "adult" site. If I'd ever register an "adult domain" it will be to sell it again. I want that I'd get in touch with the "erotica world".

If I sell you a car and you use it as a get-away car in a bankrobbery am I legally responsible? (provided ofcourse you didn't tell me up front you were going to use it for that purpose - which I really wish you wouldn't do because then you'ld have to shoot me I guess)
You really should visit adult sites though. It's a whole new world out there :D

Well, no thanks. Someone I know had a computer full of virusses and spyware after accidently hitting an adult site...
The legal thing may be more complicated. If you register for example naked-teens.com, then, you know that if you are selling it that the buyer will probably use it for a porn site. So in a way you could be considered co-responsable...
Another danger of registering an adult domain to sell it again, is that your registrar may think you're a sex maniac. And then it's the question if he'll believe it when you explain you just want to sell the domain for much money :D

Legally speaking - it makes NO Difference. Porn is legal in many countries and it is legal upto a large extent in the USA.
Once you sell your domain name then it makes NO difference whatsoever as to what it is used for.
A parallel example is - if you sell a domain name - abcshop.com and someone starts using it for peddling drugs - does this mean that you are responsible - obviously not. The same principal applies here. When you sell an adult domain name - it is obviously for an adult website - but the content of the site is really not your problem as this is not controlled by you.
Also, no registrar is going to think that you are a sex maniac just because you have adult domain names - most reseller accounts owned by domain speculators have those. Even if you have just a few adult domain names - these could very well have been purchased from your website by your customers - this can also be purchased by you in your own name to run an adult site - running a perfectly legal adult site is not illegal or immoral. I am certain that every large reseller account
has a couple of adult names - registered by their sub-resellers, customers, themselves etc ...
The registrar themselves is registering adult domain names - does this mean that the registry will think that this registrar is a sex maniac :)
The secondary domain market is large and everyone will easily believe that you have bought a domain for the sole purpose of reselling the name

I think you are a bit overly concerned about being associated with the adult site industry ;)
If it bothers you that much it's probably not worth the money.
But a) there is nothing illegal about porn (not even in Belgium), b) even if they put 11 year old boys and girls pictures on the url it's still not your fault. There is perfectly legal 18 and 19 year old teen porn as well and you could not know they'ld use it for kiddy porn.
The registrar remark is even funny (well too me at least). a) Why would the registrar think anything about me b) Why would I care about what the registrar thinks and c) Why would I even try to CONVINCE the registar that I'm not a sex maniac?
Why would I care?

Well, you may want to get some things done by the registrar afterwards. I mean, you still need the registrar if you want to register more domains for yourself (= not for reselling).
Imagine I register porn.biz just to resel it afterwards, and I want afterwards gerrit.biz for myself, then the registrar may think "the porn maniac is back again". In theory it makes no difference of course, but it's always nicer if there are no misunderstandings.
And imagine two people want to register a very good domain, then it's only human you would rather see it getting registered for someone you like yourself. It will make no difference normally because of the "first come, first serve" theory, but again it's more pleasant to deal with someone without misunderstandings.
