Hello I was just asking myself if somebody can tell me where can I notice about a dos attack, is there an authority able to punish these attacks once traced?

Sometimes the attacker using a zombie computer. I mean the attacker crack a box then use it to attact your site. Other possibilities they sign up a hosting account using stolen credit card and use it to attact your site.
So I think it's hard to punish them. Block any IP addresses which attact yours I think is the best way.

Don't portsentry automatically ignore the IPs?
