Does anybody here know how 'legit' emails are from Ranking.com that I -and others- get, that go:
"Market research has shown your site to be one
of the most popular websites on the Internet.
Ranking.com has spent several years aggregating
statistics from thousands of online users and found
that ExampleDomain.com* is now ranked as the
xxx,xxx** most visited site on the Web." (etc.)

hmm. they are sending you solicited emails, how can you doubt their validity and legitimacy?

I've gotten e-mails from them too, for several of my sites. I never signed up with them and for this reason believe that they're spam. They send these emails to direct more webmasters, people, and money to their site and want people to install their toolbar. But this is just my impression.

By the way, their statistics are wildly inaccurate. See what they have on your site and what else is in its category.
