View Full Version : VDI.net really strange?
FireStormNET 01-01-2004, 07:32 PM I am currently looking at some vps solutions. One of those was with vdi.net, whom I am not familar with so I did a google search on vdi.net and this is what comes up http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=vdi%2Enet
Al ittle odd, and for sure I would not have any thing hosted with these guys, totaly unprofessional.
Has anyone got any feedback on ADC, or interserver.net
How is there network, etc...
Jim
Chicken 01-01-2004, 07:36 PM Jim, seems the server with the VDI homepage was "modified" by "a helpful individual" and needs to be fixed.

I would never ever trust a company that allows defacement of it's very own main page - since Google picked it up already it has probably been in that state for quite some time, which makes me wonder if they are even still in business.

VDI is not open for business anyway, so I'd move on, although I'd be keen to see what the deal is with Google.. that message was apparently there for 10-15 mins according to the currently unemployed webdesigner. Bloody disgrace.
wheimeng 01-01-2004, 08:47 PM I think their speed is slow. Never seem to get good speed.

Interesting comment seeing as they don't offer any services.. I'm not surprised you don't get good speed. You should try NAC, I hear they have improved quite a lot recently.. although that's only hearsay.

They’re using Cpanel 3.6
Did they not think to upgrade?

I think they are / were running their own modified version of cpanel 3 called web panel if I am not mistaken.
And if the above is correct, that they've gone out of biz.. which was a long time coming imho.. sad if its true tho.

No, not the terrible message I was referring to.. unless you need to clear your cache possibly. Anyway.. it's irrelevant now. ;)

They did NOT get hacked.. are you reading this at all? ..and they don't exist so all of this is just wasted bandwidth lads..
imitech 01-01-2004, 09:32 PM I think you’re right, looks like they’re using a custom control panel as you can’t access www.vdi.net/whm
Sorry guys - I jumped the gun :o
*note to myself – must read before I post*

Yes.. :) it seems that this thread has now caused a bunch of people, who are hopefully only hungover, to make sweeping assumptions.. this is the final word on this matter.. :)
VDI does NOT trade anymore, and a web designer was asked to put proper and relevant information on the VDI web site to advise any visitors of this fact and to tell them [or remind them in some cases] that American Data Center is currently managing the VDI client base and network. There is no point in considering VDI as a potential service provider as they do not provide services anymore. The web designer was updating the index page, as I understand it, and decided to be a moron and put up a stupid comment.. it was disgraceful and unwarranted and this person is now looking for work elsewhere as a result. Beyond this there are no other problems. It's not uncommon for companies to grow, be bought, merge with other companies etc and so there is no need for any doom and gloom posts.. None of these companies are 'currently' seeking new business, so if you are looking for ISP services right now, then best move on to another provider. On behalf of those responsible, we apologise to anyone who was offended by the message on the VDI web site, which was the delinquent act of a twit.
Happy New Year.
