Well?

Let's look at it like this: Someone takes the best parts of Direct Admin, cPanel, Plesk and Ensim Pro - now what more would you want in a control panel?

Everything that's in HSphere ;) That'll do me.

hehe, k, what if you added all good parts from cpanel, plesk, ensim pro, direct admin, h-sphere and hostgui.... what MORE would you people want in a control panel? ;)

I'm happy with directadmin. Maybe change directadmin template system little bit to give designer more power, but that's different issue.

Hi,

I would like a mix of H-sphere, cpanel, Helm and directadmin.

I like the way directadmin's interface works and its speed.

I like Helm's structure.

I like H-sphere's multi server feature.

I wish there were some developers who wanted to make a CP. using mono and .net so a true multi platform/server CP could be created.

Thanks
Jonathan

You don't need to write it with .net/mono to make it multi-platform, Java is already cross-platform, so that's not the issue at all, the issue is that different platforms have different file locations, ways of configuring items etc. and some are vastly different from each other e.g. Linux and Windows.

VERY true.

I personaly don't like java (i like .net).

If all the config is stored in xml and com's done via SOAP then the platform thing isn't a problem :)

Thanks
Jon

That's the only thing missing from HSphere really is a SOAP interface, would make things much more portable IMHO.

Configs in XML is not a good idea IMHO, doesn't make for a scalable system, a database is where it's at - DB can be load balanced a lot easier than an XML file can be, so you can have multiple front end CP server and backend DB servers.

well the main thing a control panel needs is security and good functionality

configs dont need to be loadbalanced heh

unless your configs are quite large heh

It does if you're doing a proper job of it and storing details of all mail accounts, domains, databases, and other settings, like HSphere does - which IMHO is by far the best way of doing it.

then its not being used to store a config its being used as a database of all your accounts etc.

Err.... yeah, it's still a database of configs as it stores every single piece of data that is needed to configure a system from fresh, so therefore it is storing configs.

ahhh I see what you mean

I want a different Playboy model in the header every time I login. Also it should build my site for me and wipe my tush, and feed me peeled grapes.

Hi

I like a nice easy interface, I can not do with some slow loading admin panels. Like cpanel's at the moment for me. Clean cut fresh with just handy tools to make jobs quicker. IP manager for example!

Thanks

Dan
