View Full Version : I need to go shopping but know nothing about clothing...
Liguidsoul 12-30-2003, 03:30 AM Ok, I guess you can call me a "computer geek" although, that term would apply to many people who visit this forum.
I do not know a whole lot about fashion, and want to update my closet a bit.
What brands are popular for 19-year-olds these days?
What brands would you buy, at my age, if:
a) You were trying to save a bit.
b) Money was not such an issue.
I was looking at American Eagle. They seem to have decent looking stuff. But it looks to be more on the "budget" side.
I'm not into sports or anything, I'm just looking to get every-day clothing for a teenager.
And yes, I know this is a dumb thread. But I honestly never visit the mall or pay attention to that kind of stuff. Help me out if you're up-to-date on this.
OzyWebHost 12-30-2003, 03:49 AM A DrizaBone, pair of Blundies and an rippa Akubra dig that's all you need ... oh ... an Esky for the coldies would look kewl at a dog race.
A the best cob
Ok... here goes, works across the years. I where t-shirts and jeans for the most part.
Vox Hosting 12-30-2003, 03:52 AM Hilfiger and Levi Silvertab's here and when I have to business suits.
Aushosts 12-30-2003, 03:57 AM Get your girlfriend/friend that's female to go shopping with you ;) they'll help you out...
Well, i have been going to the mall and buying some clothes, i recently bought some stuff from Express (They are having a big sale + $20 off all jeans)
I like to dress professional, even if i'm out with friends.
I wear some jeans (or slacks), a nice sweater type shirt, or an under shirt and over shirt (Since it's winter) some leather shoes and my leather jacket.
I dunno, i don't go by fashion, and buy from the clearence isle if i need, or buy $75 shirts.
bobcares 12-30-2003, 04:06 AM Girlfriends can really help... :)
Now if you don't have one. Get one quickly ..... At 19 even computer geeks have many girlfriends.
Also, there would be many cute girls in the neighbourhood whom you help when their computer stops working. Now is the time to ask them for a favour.
Regards,
Amar

I want to dress professional too. But comfortable.
At the same time, I don't want to buy anything that was outdated four years ago. That's why I seek your advise :)

Have you been out in four years?
anon-e-mouse 12-30-2003, 04:34 AM Hang out at an Al Fresco cafe for a while and look at what people your age are wearing as they pass by. If you want professional also, watch in the lunch hour for what the young geeks are wearing :)
Well, since you're 19, wouldn't that mean an eminem t-shirt, a beanie, very baggy jeans that come down to the middle of your butt, fubu shoes, a chain wallet that comes down to your knees, and a down black baggy coat?
Sorry, i coudln't resist :(

A pair of shorts, a blue truckie's singlet and a pair of thongs .... for women a bra is an optional extra.
