I just did a search on McHost, and posts about them seem to be very positive. I know their prices are quite high compared to some other reseller systems, but I'm prepared to pay that little bit extra for peace of mind anyday!

So, my question: are they still as good as they've been in the past? Please only post if you are a current customer of McHost, or if you've used them in the past month or so.

Thanks.

PS: If anyone from McHost is reading this, maybe you could consider adding just a little bit more disk space to those plans? It isn't like HD's are expensive at the moment. ;)

Edit: Anyone know what the price of additional disk space and bandwidth at McHost is?

I'm a customer for almost a month now. I haven't been beating down on service, but they're great with response time for everything. They just recently added more diskspace to the plans, so I don't know if they'll inch anymore in. I believe it was about $5 per 100MB of space. Bandwidth is $5/gig extra unless you buy in larger quantities (50+ gigs).

Sounds good to me. $5 per GB of bandwidth is very affordable, especially considering that it means increased server load as well.

Disk space, on the other hand, seems somewhat expensive: I would have thought that you would get a GB of HD space for $5.

True, but there's only so much you want to put on one server and then it's time to buy another one. :) The support is top notch for the price paid.

You could definitely so far worse...

Went the route of cheaper/feature laden hosts and ended up coming a cropper each time.

Marc and the crew are patient, professional and make a point of going that extra mile.

You definitely get what you pay for.

In my experience they are poor at fielding sales enquiries - both in terms of vague comments and unaswered emails.

Doesn't augur well, does it?

In my experience they are poor at fielding sales enquiries Not in my experience they weren't. All my e-mail enquiries were promply answered, and covered all the points I was querying!

As has been echoed elsewhere in this thread, the support at MCHost is really top notch, and you definetly get your moneys worth! :D

Not sure but my guess might be that the changeover from single site accounts to concentrating on reseller accounts might be the point of this post.

That said I asked for a trial period to test the system properly and see what it could do and whilst there's been hiccups they've always been dealt with and solved professionally and promptly.

In all fairness your "insinuation" that poor sales (which is not my experience) indicates poor support/quality just ain't so. If anything, Marc and the team put more into providing the service as opposed to "selling" it... In my opinion that's actually a positive indication.

Just my penneth worth but I know a lot of others who are of the same opinion.
